TAR Podcast #4 with Earl Strickland & Shane Van Boening

Best podcast by a mile!!!!

I could sit and watch Earl practice for hours. Anyone that has done so knows what I'm talking about.

I have said since I knew enough to have an opinion that Earl spins the ball better than anyone I have ever seen. I watched him warming up on the 10 footer shooting full table length shots with 3 tips of inside english and drilling the heart of the pocket bringing the cueball five rails around with the spin. He might be the best pure shooter ever.

Even the few shots he hit on the podcast were just pure. He is so smooth it's amazing.

I can't wait for the match tonight. Thanks to Chris Kurzweil for sponsoring the match.

Earl is always going to be Earl....

Even when his emotions started to run high there was truth in his statements.... Say what every one else is thinking and they will talk about you forever...

I think in some areas I may be talking about Earl forever because I understand what he is saying....

Great Podcast 2

Wow he knows how to pocket balls :) 3 tips outside english with that 70 " fishing stick, could hurt your wrist MAN

earl strickland...the phil helmuth of pool.

oh, and who knew the a/c ADDS humidity to the air....hmmmm.

They said it is raining there today... Also it is cool so the AC likely won't run so all the heavy breathers in the room are going to make the room humid and the table play wet.... I think the comment of heat was in reference to heating the table like they do in 3cushion. The room can be humid but if the table is heated it will stay dry.....

At the tourneys where they have a TV table and AccuStats hangs it's lighting rig the TV table always plays different than the other tables because the heat from their lighting rig drives the moisture out of the cloth......

I wouldn't be surprised if they use heat lamps after the match to keep the table playing good.....

no...he made a comment about a/c adds condensation to the air.....lol

Nice broadcast. Watched it all, usually I don't. What can you say, Earl is very entertaining. Without Earl the broadcast would have been boring.
Earl would be good in the booth with Billy I.

hmmm I must have missed that... I heard him say that the people coming in would add humidity and I heard him say he wished they could get heat on the table....

4:55-5:20
19:33-21:36

Only 2 spot I saw humidity discussed but I could have missed it... just point me where....

Ahhah I found it 41:35-

Actually I just watched the Podcast again and the condensation comment was correct...

He never said AC added humidity he said it causes condensation and then talked about the temperature of the balls and rails... If they are colder than the air and the people in the room are adding humidity I would have to think he would be right in that the balls and table could actually get wet...

AC does dry the air but in some instances I am sure it just doesn't keep up with the humidity introduced... Makes sense because even in the summer when the AC is on if it rains tables play wet.......

Out of context I was like WTF... Then when he went straight to talking about the rails and balls and even touching the balls to his cheek the context became clear and the comment was likely correct and assumptions that he was not very wise missed their mark......

he is very wise (about pool, and matching up, and gambling, and competition, and sharking people, and being an enigma, and entertaining people...etc)....but he just happened to say something stupid about a/c.

your point would be like saying its cold in here because of the heaters. and then arguing the heaters don't keep up with the cold...so it's the heaters fault it's cold in here. not taking into point how much colder it would be if the heaters weren't even there. a/c reduces humidity. any condensation created by the a/c would have been outside the room.

don't defend the undefendable. it wasn't an attack on him as a person...it was just a stupid comment.

Thanks JCIN & Mark. This is the kind of thing we need in our sport.

I had to watch it again ... who doesn't need a morning laugh!
