First I have to say I love the idea of a 5 by 10 Diamond coming in the future, it will make for some great matches and who would not want to see some one pocket on a tight 5 by 10 with 2 world class players or any game for that matter. One thing, love or hate Earl, he is so right about putting the pros on a 5 by 10, the game is too easy for them on 4.5 and bigger pockets and a 9 foot table. I doubt we will see a full return for them in tournament play but hopefully more rooms will have them popping up but they really are not cost effective to have in numbers.
The idea of a belt is cool but I cannot really picture Shane wearing one unless he keeps working out and bulking up. The idea of a King of One Pocket, Banks, 14.1, 8, 9 and 10 ball sounds awesome along with maybe a King of the All Around too. IMO this will be the most exciting and we will get to see different games played, rotation can be a bit boring at times and some of the other games would be a good change of pace.
As for giving discounts to members of BCAPL, it is not too difficult, just have a promo code for them so they get a discount, its a good way to track where your viewers and money are coming from. I will happily send out an email to people on my newsletter with a promo code that saves people money, maybe have an AZ Billiards promo code too for members here.
To get other people with mailing list or sites with a good deal of traffic just offer an incentive, they could post a banner on their site or send out mass emailing for your event, if people use that promo code from the email or site then they get a couple bucks. If your charging $35 and the promo code saves someone $5 and the promoters get another $5 then you make $25 as opposed to $35 but most likely its a new customer for TAR. I would rather have 500 people at $25 then 200 at $35.
Another idea for the diehard TAR supporters would be an annual membership say for $100, it buys you streams for the year and a small discount on TAR products. TAR averages around 5-7 streams a year it seems so its a good savings and locks people in, no guarantee on how many streams but 3 streams are a $100 anyway so its little to no risk for a consumer.
TAR should also have a newsletter, if you had everyone signed up for the newsletter who has watched on the site you would have thousands of people on it and not everyone comes to AZ Billiards but most check email daily. When you have a stream, new products or special promotion from a sponsor like the OB Cues thing you could send out an email blast for it. If you have 10,000 people on it which is realistic and 5% buy a PPV that is 500 people, not too shabby.
I like the idea of Cali coming on board and think he will do wonders as he does already. Just some suggestions and feedback from your local idiot. I know ideas are easy to come by and time and money are not but this is a good way to make some moves.
Here is the link if anyone wants to make comments or suggestions, I know Mark and Justin welcome feedback.
P.S. Still thinking of how we can solve pools money problems but Bill Gates and Oprah are not biting. :embarrassed2:
