Good Eveeeening,

I will be keeping some stats and game by game commentary for the Oscar Dominguez and John Morra match here....

www.oldpoolhall.com/tarupdates

Just click on the TAR poster of John and Oscar. You will then see a web page that has Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 and Totals at the bottom left of the page, just click on those tabs to navigate.

I will refresh the page as I get time... maybe every 10 games or so.

It's going to be a great PPV with the usual professional quality associated with TAR. You can order the match by the day or the whole package for a extremely reasonable fee. Go to www.theactionreport.com to order.

Play starts very shortly at Hard Times Billiards in Bellflower, CA.

Later!

Day 1 is done

Final stats are uploaded for Day 1. Final score Oscar 35 - John 29.

Started about 7:30 central and ended at 5:15 central.

I'm too tired to comment on the night, so will do it after I get some sleep.

Man you are a monster. Thanks for this.

There was some great safety play and the table is double tough. Both guys were playing hard. Oscar said "Man I never thought it would be like this." It took forever but they were fighting the whole way.

I am wore out but I was able to take some breaks. CaliRed is not human to get all this down. Awesome work as always.

Incredible number of stats! No wonder you're tired. Long day. Thanks Red for doing that. Fun to look at. I was surprised there were only 3 break and run outs for the whole 64 games played.

Tough table!

4 1/4" pockets??

860?

Four inch pockets - by Ernesto of course. And straight cut pockets! Justin called it double tough. I call it triple tough. The pattern most games followed was, "break the balls, play a series of safeties on the one, someone gets ball in hand, they don't run out, another safety or two or three, someone gets ball in hand again, he runs the last five or six balls." MANY games looked something like this. The table won on day one!

They both had to take a good look at all shots. Anything could be missed! They couldn't get any kind of rhythm going. From where I sat, they looked almost like snooker pockets. Maybe a little too tough for such a long match. A race like the one Yang recently played Orcullo would have been adequate. To 50 or 60. Race to 100 is a major MARATHON. Ten hours the first day! Well at least the viewers will get their money's worth, and then some!

P.S. Notice not one Ten Ball on the break. Not one! I just don't understand why the Ten Ball on the break doesn't count. For a million years we allowed the Nine on the break to win. Now we have a game where the break shot is more difficult and the Ten on the break doesn't win. Makes no sense to me. Every tourney I've been to, I see very few Ten Balls going on the break. Tough tables with tight pockets stop all that. And a tight rack of course. Used to be I would see Nine Balls raining in sometimes. No more.
