Sounds a lot like a form of censorship by trying to limit the number of people who see the TAR stuff by reducing the number of people who see the TAR announcements/information.

you know why, because all of the g**damn whiners that have been crying and moaning over the past few months about NPR this and NPR that. If everyone could simply ignore the posts that they don't want to read then there would be no issue with anything in the main forum.

It has to do with free advertisement on the main board, which some company probably complained about (more than likely one of the paying ones). JCIN says they feel fortunate that they are allowed to post at all without having to pay. I agree.
If everyone could simply ignore the threads that they don't want to see, then there would be no need for the NPR forum. There wouldn't be a need for any other forum either for that matter, just have the one and ignore the threads that don't interest you.corvette1340 said:

I think what you are really trying to say is "Since I am interested in the NPR stuff I want it in the main forum and do not want to have to go to a seperate area to read it, regardless of what the site was designed and intended for, regardless of what most people come here to discuss and read about, and regardless of what anyone else prefers."
As far as the TAR threads are concerned, they are clearly and obviously pool related. As others have mentioned, apparently the administrators feel that they amount to advertising a service. Just a guess.

If you'll do a little research and view all of the threads that discussed this very topic when all of the NPR stuff was going on then you'd see my viewpoint and not have to speculate. I was simply an advocate of some NPR in the main forum being ok like birthday wishes and health threads. I also said that misleading threads were not ok. If I see a thread titled "I have cancer, please pray for me" in the main forum then I think that is ok and I will read it and reply. If others choose not to read it then thats fine too, just don't open it and then complain in it that it's NPR. Even a child can recognize the things they want to see and the things they don't.
I saw the new forum...I figured it was good for Tar and AZB.

If you look at the number of threads in some of the categories, quite a few have less than 30 threads total. They should be rolled up into other forums or removed altogether.
I want to have to go to as few forums as possible to see what everyone is talking about.

I don't have to speculate because your position is clear. If you happen to think the NPR topic is important or interesting to you, then you want it allowed in the main forum (with a title that is not misleading). If it is not important or interesting to you, then you do not want it allowed in the main forum whether or not it is clearly labeled. That's being hypocritical.corvette1340 said:

I always wondered why TAR kept posting info on here and left their own forum silent. I am perfectly happy if TAR only posted info on their forum and required people to log on to their site to obtain that info. Members of AZ would be posting updates here regularly anyway. This way TAR's product would be seen everytime you log onto their site. As of now I only go there to watch live stream.

Then I just look at the titles of the individual posts to determine which ones that I want to read -- I don't ever bother looking at what separate group or section in the forum that the post was posted under.
IMO this is the best way to "navigate" the forums. :grin:

That sub-forum looks to be specific to action posts, not just TAR posts. (It's called The Action Room, not The Action Report, LOL!!!) I guess this is similar to having a specific forum for tournament announcements and a separate forum for cues and cuemaking.pharaoh68 said:I don't get it.

But the MAIN FORUM is for pool-related topics which i interperet to mean topics related to playing the game of pool.
And yet at last glance (about 30 seconds ago) some of the threads in that forum are topics like:
Another Omen (a cue thread)
Customer with a problem (a sale / transaction thread)
Tri-state Invitational (a tourney thread)
60's Balabushka (another cue thread)
Hey Eric Crips (a cuemaker thread)
and of course, The funny pic/gif thread (NPR if I've ever seen it!)
Yet all of these threads stay exactly where they are while POOL-RELATED TOPICS, like who is playing who, what the outcome was, what was at stake gets removed?!?! Just seems kinda strange to me!!!
And in response to someone else's question of "What's the big deal"...
...the big deal is the Main Forum is for topics related to playing the game. Now, because TAR posts were listed there and received a lot of attention, they get moved someplace else WITHOUT the consent of Jason and the TAR guys. So basically 'Main' is for anything and everything. But if it has to do with another site, it goes somewhere else?!
