Race to 25 best of 3 sets format. $4000 to the winner $1000 to the loser with the usual strict warning about a chop. The female used lets say is Si Meng who Jay Helfert thinks is the most likely to beat the men.

Would you buy this match? And who do you think wins and would you bet on it?
 
Maybe as an under card I don't think it would sell on it's own.

Bartrum has too much heart too lose.

One day, I firmly believe a women will be able to beat a top player.
 
I'd watch it if the girl got a spot. I think Bartram passed the level where the girls can make it competitive with him. I would for sure buy it if I thought the girl playing could run racks with a certain ball spot. Otherwise this would be a drastic flop;
 
I think that Jasmin Ouschan, who regularly competes against top men on the Eurotour, and has had some top 10 finishes against the men in Eurotour fields having hundreds of players, would have the best chance. Jasmin is also very serious about her conditioning, which is key in a long race. Yes, I'd be far more inclined to pay to watch Bartrum vs Jasmin.

As for Siming Chen, I just don't know her game well enough to have an opinion here on a possible match with Bartrum.
 
I'll take any of the top 10 females for $100 in a short race if he'll pass a drug test (and them).

Kind of dirty to make in indirect accusation like that. I dunno that there's any drug that jumps you from below the top ten to beats them all.

Like I said before...I will take any of the top 10 females for $100 in a short race if he's willing to take a drug test. Plain & simple :)

I'm sure if you bet higher and were willing to cover the cost of the test, you would get plenty of takers, but for $100 its not even worth it.

Its like me saying "I'll bet $10 that Bartram will beat any of the top 10 girls giving them the 1 out and the breaks, but the girls have to play naked." Just a stupid scenario for the cash you are willing to put up.

like you, I do not know Chen but I know Jasmin enough that she would be a handful to any and all men in tournament-format.
The thing is that race to 100 has nothing to do with tournament-format and as such her skills have not been tested yet. The potential is there however...

Let me make this as clear as possible. I am a peon in the pool world who is willing to make a $100 side bet that Chris Bartram (who I saw play at the 2010 US Open) cannot beat any of the top 10 women in a short race if he is put on a time limit. Period.

Wow I didn't know suckers like you still existed.
 
Cliff Joiner is best known for his 1-pocket prowess....
..but he plays pretty fair 9-ball.
But I think Chris Bartrum plays 9-ball a bit better.

In Allison Fisher's prime, Joiner gave Fisher the 7 for the cash...
...and won about $6.000.

I don't think the current lady 9-ballers could give Allison anything.

So I'm betting on Chris Bartrum....
..bring the whole field....maybe they can wear him out
