We are having internet issues at the Riviera. Last night we ran tests on a cable modem that worked fine. Today that same connection is not working properly and does not have the upload capability we need. The Riviera IT staff is working to get us hooked into a brand new high speed line that was installed today. The match will go off but there may be a delay of an hour or so to the start.

I will post more info here as I get it.

It could be that you have alot of people there using internet on their phones and taking away signal strength.
I hope you guys get it fixed, you have alot of good pool to show this weekend. :)

Good - because I ran a bandwidth test and I have 600kbs download speed from China to Las Vegas - while this is not neccesarily to the ISP that the RIV is using - I HOPE that the speed I end up with is enough this time to view the matches. I figure that Vegas is a place that ought to have good bandwidth on their ISPs.

Last week I thought it was good as it started out great and then about 30 minutes into the viewing the feed slowed to a crawl.

The people at the Riv are good people and will try to bend over backwards to help.

Looking forward to the match.

Hi, this is Jason and I'm in Vegas with The Action Report. It looks like the match will be put up on Ustream and theactionreport.com as soon as possible.

Anyone who has purchased the stream will receive a refund in full.

The Action Report apologizes for any inconvenience due to this.

The score of the match is now Frost 8 -- Appleton 1

I know. I consider myself a guinea pig of sorts as I pay for the streams and then spend five hours trying to tweak things on my end in order to view the match. I am not giving up though.

This time I checked my download speed to Las Vegas. over 600kbs. To Arizona it was less then 200kbs. TAR says I need 300kbs. So........ if I get lucky then whatever ISP the Riviera is using will also have download speeds for me at more than 300 and I will finally get to watch a TAR PPV event.

Funnily enough, when they broadcast the free feeds from UStream I get those pretty much with no problem. Seemingly it's only the Pay Per View provider that I have problems with. I got your Efren/Scott match pretty much in real time through UStream.

I think someone said that when the UStream feed gets more users then UStream allocates more bandwidth which is why it could be better on that. I have no idea - it's all voodoo to me and the fact that I can even get a frame delayed glimpse of something happening in real time around the world is still magical to me.

To me this is like what the telephone must have been like in the early 1900s.

Imagine what we are going to tell our grandkids when we are 80.

Son, you can't imagine how hard it was, I had to manually tweak the bandwidth both ways in my day. We all had to be computer experts back then. You got it easy boy, just think of something you want to see and it appears before your eyes. Back in my day we had to spend 3 minutes typing and clicking on an ancient system called Google. You don't even know what a keyboard is do you son?

:-) Good luck TAR!

The action report is the best thing happening for pool right now!
You guys should have some sort of a gold card membership where you pay a yearly fee and have access to all of your pay per view matches.
I would sign up in a heartbeat!

I really believe you guys are the future of pool!!!

I agree John,it will be funny to tell them things from our past.I was talking to an old timer on the plane back from NY,he was explaining how different things were 50 years ago and how great the country was and how he cant believe the technology. We wont even believe what the next 50 years will bring,it will be a world we cant even imagine i think.
P.S. Thanks for donating to me also. :)

I second that. Joe I really enjoy your commentary on UFC. Is there any way you can help the TAR guys out with a hook up on how to take this mainstream on TV?

TAR could own this side of pro pool with the right connections.

Thats what TV needs is action pool with characters and gambling,TAR could do an awesome show for the masses, you just need viewer numbers and its not easy to do live. :)

I think it's 2 sets all - Scott won the first two and Daz won the second two to force a one set tiebreaker.

This is great like tennis! Looked Scott was going to run away with it.

Also looks like whoever gets the first shot controls the games as they are breaking and running and playing jam up safes.

I think Daz ran 8 racks or more this last set. I have to work so I can't keep up with the feed.

thanks, I am in the phillipines and the connection speed here is just not fast enough to get the stream.

Regular updates would be much appreciated if possible.
