Target Pool

I always loved Target Pool. It was an entertaining way of improving rapidly at position play. I was really surprised when they ceased production. I was talking to a friend in Vegas who told me they had an unused Target Pool set that was still in the plastic wrapper. I told them to put it on Ebay.

There was a pinball machine by that name (Gottlieb) many years ago and that particular one was a blast! Forgot all about it until I saw this title :D

Back on da subject- what's "Target Pool"?

Naturally, now I have lost the contact info. But we have mutual friends. I'll go on the hunt and let them know you have interest. Gimme a day or two.

I have it. Bought it years ago. To be honest, you could make the target yourself. Only thing you would need is the book that shows the shots. If I can find mine I'd be more than happy to copy it for you.

I've been looking for target pool, but not in a position to buy a shrink wrapped copy. If anyone has a used copy, please PM me.

Others, please correct me if I'm wrong. Target Pool was created by Mr. Kim Davenport, and whatever inventory of Target Pool was destroyed in a warehouse fire. My understanding is that it comes with a big bandanna, with a, umm target, that you lay on the pool table. The book is the real treasure, showing drills to improve your positioning. The bandanna was zones, so you can gauge your accuracy.

I have it and very seldom use it. There is nothing special about it. You can make the game. Take a piece of billiard cloth at least 12" sq and draw a bullseye on it with a few other rings. The center being worth 10 points or what ever value you want and then each larger ring being worth less. Set up a practice shot and strive to get the CB to land as close to the bullseye as possible. Shoot the shot a set number of times and keep score. Player with the highest score wins. it is also a good way to keep track of your progress when working on shots.

Here's an article about it. I think the technique is useful, and it is much more useful if you first notice which position shots you have trouble with and then work on shots like those.

The copies of Target Pool I've seen on Ebay have gone for about $50-$70.

Thanks for the link Bob and your help with the price!!!lol. Yeah I found out quick which ones I needed some help with thats why I was so thrilled. The amazing thing was I could do some of the more complicated ones for some reason and then some fairly simple ones that required more stroke quality I came up a little short. No cheating in that game you've got to stroke!! and do it right.

I borrowed it from a buddy, scanned the whole book and made it into a PDF and saved it onto a CD. That way I will never lose it.

A bunch of players on the pool league want a copy so I designed a target exactly like the one that comes with the game and am having a printing company print me out a bunch of them.

If anyone is interested in a PDF copy, the full target, and half target, shoot me an email to my company email address @ tackletamer@yahoo.com
