My pool playing buddy (driven) showed me this and I wonder how many of you can do it consistently.
Place the cue ball in the center of the table between the two side pockets.
Place an object ball in the center of the table one diamond higher than the cue ball.
Draw the object ball into the center of the short rail ahead of you and the cue ball back to the short rail under you.
How often can you make the cue ball beat the object ball to the short rail under you?

edit... If this is too tough, move both balls back a diamond each toward you until you can accomplish the shot.
