I have taken much about your book very seriously and I'm finally getting the strategic consistency I have been looking for. Thank you very much.

The point of this post is that I now know what it's like to be in dead stroke spanning multiple matches. I knew exactly what I wanted to with the cue ball and just "did it". The part that convinced me is that the table I was playing was super slow with very deep tight pockets. Turns out that when you hit the center of the pocket none of that crap matters.

One question I do have, is that I normally consciencly am thinking 3 balls ahead. Last night, I was reading the entire rack, knew what I had to do and was able to correct when I got out of line. The funny thing is, I don't remember doing any of it and everything came together. The result is that I beat a proclaimed better player 17 - 3 and feel damn good about it.

Please be honest, was I just lucky or are things actually coming together in a positive way?

Thanks

Dan

See Dan, even APA wins can be satisfying...

Nice job!

Dan,

I would say you probably are experiencing a jump in your game!!

One word of caution... You must "soak in" the way you are feeling right now, and try to recreate that mindset ever time you hit a ball. When making a big jump like this, expect to "lose it" from time to time. Don't get frustrated.

This higher level of play is something you have to concentrate on, until it becomes second nature.

Thanks guys.

Russ: when I got home, I laid in bed for about 3 hours, picturing how I felt and what I was doing. Funny thing is, I could not remember 90% of my shots, but the internal feelings are still there. I am afraid to get overconfident but I know I need to keep doing what I need to do to stay at this level.

Damn, it feels good to not be posting about some idiotic problem I have.

Be honest? It was your night.. next time it might be his.. it means nothing ;)

Any feedback?

You were just lucky

90% of pool is mental, or any sport for that matter....if you feel you've gone up a level, then play like it and walk in the room with that expectation....challenge yourself and keep moving up the ladder....sounds like you've done good, keep it up....

up a level

Now you must become so familiar with this new level to be able to call it back at will. Something in your mechanics was right. learn what that was.

I have a copy of the book too.

Which part of the book do you think you guys took from the most?

I enjoyed the part about the types of pool players and fishing.
