I was away from my computer for a couple of minutes when these comments were made. I scrolled up the chat and couldn't find who made the comments. I hope my fellow mods banned the ones who made these comments.

Thanks to Accu-Stats and AZB for the great stream while is lasted. Machines break sometime and that is just the way it is. Most all of us realize that equipment failure can happen, live goes on.

Jim Fredricks from Accu-Stats said in the chat the all of today's matches were recorded and would be rebroadcast and archived on Ustream at a later date. That sure sounds like a reason to intentionally not stream it live. I don't know how anyone can seriously make that claim.

Thanks to Pat and accustats for the steam. The Corr vs Archer match was the most entertaining I've seen in a long time. I was hoping Karen would pull out the win. In the end it was the two low percentage combinations she tried that cost her the match but she played great against one of the best.

Far better than anything I've seen on tv this weekend.
 
Great Stream!!!

I really enjoyed this show along with the fantastic commentating! Unlike some other commentators that forget what the scores are, these guys were in dead punch! Big thanks to Pat, Jerry, Mike, Al and Dave for the commitments they have made in promoting pool for FREE!!! :clapping: From what I understand, one of the computers had a power supply burn out, and they were trying desperately to come up with a solution to resolve the issue!

p.s. shout out to the mods for a great job as well!!!

It was Accu-Stats and AZBilliards that made that all possible. They may be down (for tech reasons); but NEVER OUT!
 
Ditto for me. Just about the only opportunity in America to see big time pool live is when someone like Accu-Stats streams it. This is not the case in other countries where many events do air on live TV. There is nothing like watching something (anything) LIVE! I always ask the question, how many people would watch Tiger Woods win the Masters one month later? What do you think the ratings would be on that show? Nothing like the ratings on live TV, that's for sure. This is one BIG reason why pool does not work on television in the USA. Almost the entire audience knows who won the match already. BORING!

Thanks Pat and Jerry and all who made it happen. IMO the biggest innovation in professional pool over the last few years is the advent of live streaming.

The Pool World in the U.S. is lucky to have these streamers, put all this work together for FREE! And Lord knows, some days it just snows, and snows, and snows!

My take as well which is why I have spent so many hundreds, and hundreds of hours researching/gathering all the stream links (at my signature element) and promoting them literally throughout the world. I keep saying to myself "someday......."
 
Support and encouragement should be given to all those involved with bringing us live streaming such as this.

So from me, a big TAP TAP TAP to all those involved, including all the sponsors!

If your open to suggestions one thing that might make it a little better would be to use the TV balls particularily when the general lighting level is fairly low, I seem to remember that even the commentators had some issues with identifying some of the balls.

I've done commentary and it's actually easier to distinguish the older balls than the new TV ones. Number one, our eyes are more familiar with the colors we've been looking at for so many years and number two the four and five ball (on the TV set) appear almost the same on a TV monitor.

Someone who didn't know designed these new TV balls. I'm 100% sure it wasn't a pool person. If it was, they just didn't have a clue what they were doing. It would be interesting to hear the story how these new colors came about. More like snooker colors is what I first thought when I saw them.

the tourney and the stream were wonderful! too bad about the final day glitch, but what we were able to see was splendid. i would agree with the comment on the colors of the balls. i don't know what tv balls are, but the colors are easier to distinguish in other streams.

a very minor quibble.

what irked me were those few negative nellies in the chat. these sound like guys who skipped toilet-training and shoe tying, but are self-declared experts on everything from brain surgery to wall street. the musk of stupidity surrounding them makes one hope that they aren't breeders. ew!

so thanks to all involved in the streaming ... much appreciated!

I hear you Jay, I really think it's more a lighting issue than a color issue.
On streams with good lighting it's not an issue when the light levels are
relatively low like at TS even TV balls are sometimes hard to tell apart.
4-5 for example. Of course I am refering to computer monitors.

Really --> do you mean the one that had 15/more irons in the fire at once, could not "always" read the chat because of its location, who actually paid attention to the game at hand whilst commentating rather then trying to keep up with the myriad of mostly irrelevant topics in the chat that would have taken him off topic ...... the guy who took time out amidst all the confusion to reply to my personal PM in regards to this matter that immediately and earnestly gave "you" a special shout out when there were hundreds and hundreds of other fans in the room??????? Yea, that nasty 'old' man -- how dare him!? And to think he is 13+ years younger then me --- man do I feel 'old' now :eek:. Maybe I should start calling him "Old Whippersnapper" -- kind of a fitting oxymoron in this instance don't you think? :p.
 
Thanks to all of you who have offered the encouraging words. We dissected the troublesome computers all day, switched out power supplies and hard drives, and just could not get it going.

But thanks to all of you who watched and a special word of thanks to Lucasi Hybrid Cues, Simonis Cloth and the TAP leagues who made it possible for us to be there. I do hope you will all have these companies in mind when you purchase billiard supplies and choose the leagues you play in. We are all better off if we support the companies that support the game.
 
Thanks for letting me sit in Jerry. I'm grateful for the experience. You guys work your butts off bring these steams to the pool junkies of the world. It's a crying shame the equipment malfuntioned.

Very often when doing television commentary you are working off TV monitors set up in your booth. You may not be able to see the players and the table that well. Sometimes blocked by cameras, cameramen and other equipment. What I'm saying it that our view is not always the best, and you must rely on the monitors in front of you.

Better lighting helps and better camera work helps even more. I love it when they close (move in) on the balls between shots so we (and the audience) can clearly see everything.

Bingo!!!! If we do not support those who support us we all lose in the long run and even before the flip in some circumstances!
