Added Money

There is some added money. However, it is dependent on several factors (one of which is the number of players that show up). Just to give you an idea of what the payouts will look like, based on a field of 64 players, 1st place would receive approximately $1,000 and 13th-16th would receive roughly the equivalent of their entry fee returned. These are estimates because it is impossible to know the total value of the prize fund due to the staggered entry fees.

If the first few events attract a large or even a respectable turn-out, the APT will be able to negotiate even more money added in future events. Let's make it happen!

I hope to see you there!

Are there minimum #s you can share? Both dollars and players?

Sorry if I missed it, but who is doing cue work @ Top Hat, please?

Could you post you has signed up so far and keep updating it. I think it would help people to decide wether to make the trip or not.

Thanks

Questions

I prefer to not post specific dollar amounts to each position for two reasons:

1. Because of the staggered entry fee structure, the total purse is highly dependent on the number of players and their skill level.

2. If I post specific dollar amounts for each position, some players will be upset at even the slightest variation from those figures.

For these reasons, I don't believe I have ever seen a tournament director announce expected payouts for any position other than perhaps 1st place.

I also don't prefer to publish the names of individuals who have signed up for privacy reasons. I don't believe that their intention to play in the event is grounds to publish their names to the world. However, I can share that so far, we have received 53 sign-ups from players in 6 different states! We expect there are many more players that are either waiting to sign-up or will simply show up without signing up. So don't hesitate, make your travel arrangement and come out and play! There will also be many other ways to win some cash over the weekend.

I have also arranged a special discounted rate for APT players at the Comfort Inn only 1 mile from Top Hat Cue Club. Details are on www.actionpooltour.com and below:

Comfort Inn
8801 Loch Raven Blvd.
Towson, MD 21286
(410) 882-0900

Call the number above Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm and ask for Mindy. Mention that you are with The Action Pool Tour and receive a discounted rate for the weekend of June 11-12!

Thanks for the Update

I appreciate your respect for the players privacy. The 53 players from 6 States is good information for players to make an informed decision wether they want to play as well as fans who want to come out and sweat the matches to support the tour and the host room.

Thanks again

Frank

My lady and I are expecting and she pretty far along and we only have one car. I thought it would be alright but if she needed to be rushed in for labor i wouldnt be there to help.

That doesnt mean that i wont make future events but for the past year tournament scheduling and my life seem to conflict a lot.. Unfortunately :(

I do wish you success and I will make a strong effort to make it in the future :)

Im still looking good if that is what you are implying ;)

You look marvelous:

The Family Card

Oh no....JJ played the family card! Ok JJ...family does come first...at least you have your priorities straight. I hope to see you at the next one though!

What are the rules for the event? Is it 10-ball but texas express? or true 10 ball, including; call shot with ability to pass shots to opponents when pocketed in wrong pocket or pocketing wrong ball? spotting 10 ball on break? spotting 10 ball when made in wrong pocket?

May want to have a very simplistic rules sheet to be handed to every player at registration. At these regional tournaments someone on a loud speaker just gets on and goes over rules and no one listens and it results it non-efficient play, constant questions, and even confrontation. I know this from experience in playing in poorly run 10 ball events. As a competitive golfer, I can vouge that it would be nice to have a rules sheet for every tournament, just like in golf. That allows the players to discuss first on their own and not immediately go to those running the event unless there is a genuine dispute. Just a suggestion, that would be nice, I know you are trying to run this thing right so hope my 2 cents isn't out of line.

Rules

The rules for 10-Ball and 9-Ball are posted on the Action Pool Tour website. I like your suggestion so I will also provide hand-outs for people that list the basic rules of 10-Ball. Thanks for the suggestion!

Looking forward for a great event. I'll be there on Saturday. I already signed up on the website.

Cue Work

Onsite cue work will be done by a gentleman named Mel. He has well over 20 years experience and does all of my cue work. This will be a great time to get that new tip that you may need or just a good deep cleaning before the tournament!
