The Baltimore Bullet... Who's seen it?

Pretty horrible film, but two thirds of the stars of pool from the late 1970's are in it, and Willie Mosconi himself has a cameo appearance. The great Irving Crane also appears. You might also get a kick out of seeing the twenty-something version of Allen Hopkins.

Good collector item for a pool enthusiast, but not much of a film. Wish I owned it.

And more importantly, does anyone have a copy to sell?

I like it, it's very campy and fun to watch. You have to suspend what you know about pool and just enjoy it for what it is.

Wayne Norcross is the house pro at DannyK's. He told me he did the opening shot. I haven't seen it, but he says he banked the eight ball cross side, but the eight ball had to jump over another ball. He said they used stop motion in the opening credits, and you can see the eight ball arc in the air, getting closer to the pocket as they introduced each actor.

Is it out on DVD?

Jim Rempe actually has a line in the movie.
Something like " you have a soft heart" to the tournament director.
Butera was the shooting double.
One older gentleman here claims he did some shots for Coburn.
The other lead guy was too lazy to practice ( Bruce Boxleitner ).
Did not shoot one shot supposedly.
I have the tape but on EP speed. Terrible quality.
One movie worth missing is Pakners with Efren.
It's so bad. Efren gets to sing and fight in it.
You know all Filipino and Indian movies and music number no matter what. :D

I have a copy. It's the only pool movie I own that I haven't watched more than once, but I keep it because it's a pool movie and has lots of cameos.

Check e-bay.

I loved this movie when I was a kid in the eighties. Seen it dozens of times. I might have 2 VHS copies. I know my sister bought me a couple for my last birthday. She remembered me watching it a lot and had to get it for me.

I have seen it and I own a copy, but it's not for sale. I am from the Baltimore area and I love pool, so of course I can't sell it. Check out the plaid suit on Allen Hopkins if you get a chance to see it! lol.

You know, you and I have to come up with a life-size pic of Allen in that checked-suit and bring it to the SBE next March!! It would be too damn funny!

And not to hijack this thread, but you played jam up at Great Slates this weekend and I'm sorry you didn't win the Qualifier!

It is my favorite pool movie, by far. If you leave out all the silly fights and setups, it is pretty realistic. Two guys trying to make a buck on the road with pool, foregoing the tournaments and "tin cups," running to poker, chasing after pool-playing women, etc.

My favorite joke that I tell too often: At the shootout during the New Orleans funeral where the horse rears up and the casket falls out and comes open, some guy runs up to it, looks at the corpse and says, "It's OK everyone, he's still dead!"

Now that there's some funny stuff, I don't care who you are.

Oh, so I am not the only one who thinks that is one of the funniest things in the movie...hahaha. Seriously, doesnt everyone have pictures of themselves from the past with something horrible on?
And thanks for the compliment on my play. I really appreciate it. I am excited to really get back into playing regularly. By the way, I am going up to Gallery tomorrow night for the handicap tournament, so I hope I get a chance to see Frank and talk to him.

Another crackup is that gigantic bowtie Allen wore with his, otherwise reasonable, tuxedo when NBC Sports did a pocket billiards show in mid-1978. The host was John Brodie (the NFL quarterback) and Pete Margo, Tom Jennings and the Miz also participated.
