The Bucket List

Cue ball draw with this?

I just saw the movie The Bucket List yesterday. It's about two guys going to die in 6 mos or so. It got me to thinking. If you knew when you were going to die what would be the one experience you wuold want to have before you passed? Pool related, please.

Mine would be to test my skills on the table against the worlds top ten players, one at a time in a race. To be able to gauge my skill level and composure against the best would be the ultimate rush.

First choice, Sophia!

Pool related? With six months to live I wouldn't waste five minutes with a pool stick.

I agree with you.

I agree Hu, but I wanted to make it pool related in this forum. :)

If I had about 6 months to live, I'd spend two months of 7 hour a day sessions doing all those drills that I've never had the patience for, and after the two months of 'base camp,' I'd play any major even I could find so that I could go to my death bed having eliminated any and all of those "what ifs" that will, and have followed me since the day gave up on the dream.

Pool Bucket List:

I would visit Yoshikazu Kimura....if he is still alive.
When I was a kid living on an air force base in Indiana, I showed him a few shots I came up with.
I didn't know he was a famous trick shot artist until I picked the game up again in my twenties.
He probably wouldn't remember/recognize me, but he might remember the shots I showed him.

I would also like to play in some pro tournaments....not just play the best 10 in the world....but to start from the beginning of a pro event and work my way through the bracket until I lose or win it all.

I'd like to get a custom made 12 foot table with triple shim pockets...only not shimmed, but with custom tailored rails to make the pockets tighter.......like a Russian billiards table.

I'd like to get a custom cue....probably a Webb cue.

Most of all, I think I would like to go on the road to play pool, pick up women, and gamble big. If I win a bunch of money, then I'd put in my will to have:
the money partitioned out to my illegitimate kids for educational use and/or necessities of life;
my pool journal of experiences to be published for a biography;
and.....my custom cue, pool journal of notes, and pool related equipment to the first of my illegitimate kids that shows a serious interest in pool.

pool related with 6 months to live? hmmm, I'm sure there might be a pool or two involved in the last 6 months, but I doubt I'd be playing any pool. Unless, of course, my son were old enough, and that's what he wanted to do. He'll be 1 on Feb. 22nd, but if he were older when I had the 6 months to go....I'd do any and everything he wanted to do.

I like it..

I like your final wish TD. Very similiar to mine. That yearning to compete and see where I stand is what it is all about. Win or lose.

Yes, meeting some legends would be very rewarding. Playing them would also be a hoot. :)

TR, hopefully your son will be old enough to whip your butt on the table before you go. I think that would be worth a thousand smiles. :D

Is that your boy?

heck that could be in no time at all....I hope I don't have 6 months left that soon. :)

If that is your boy in the avatar, I see where you get your logon name. :D

I would have sex with Carmen Electra... on a pool table. :)
So, she would agree to this because are dying? In that case, got a phone number for me?

I try to live my life like that anyway. We may have a lot more than six months, but we're all headed towards the morgue.
