The Few The Proud

Cue Guy

Registered
I put a lot of passion and time into this cue and hope to put it into the hands of a pool playing Marine who will appreciate it.
Some feed back from others who share the passion for the craft would be appreciated.
Thanks Mike

Beautiful!

I have seen this cue and these pictures do NOT do it justice. It is absolutely beautiful and the craftsmanship is simply amazing.

Great work!

Semper Fidelis...

Nice geedunk ring work.
For anyone that does not know - Rings are the national defense ribbon aka participation ribbon. . like a safety patrol or citizen of the month bumper sticker - no disrespect intended. . and in response to jmercer Sir:

No disrespect intended from me either not in the slightest.

I am an old cynical former USMC Vietnam veteran using old colloquial slang trying to have a chuckle with other Nam era vets. In my time & place we called the NDR an geedunk ribbon. :p

As you can see the ring work is perfect.

I am sorry if I offended anyone. :embarrassed2:

I selected that paticular ribbon for it's commonality. I was concerned about using any qualification specific ribbon for fear it might limit the target market of the cue. No Marine worth his grit would buy a cue with ribbons he did not earn!

Reports from Homeland security sectors tell me that the version of geedunk being used by the Navy boys is a term for the closest place to get junk food! Terms seem to stick around a long time and just adjust from generation to generation.

Thanks for the verification jmercer.

I was in the Corps from 1965 to 1969 and did 2 tours in Nam. I never heard the term geedunk ribbon. Not doubting you just never heard it.

i cant see pics here at worked.. unfortunatly they are blocked... but i do not remember seeing a picture of the forearm.. just the wrap and the joint..

I am a active duty Marine and if you needs some contacts to see how you would want to put this in someone's hands let me know. I know me personally I would put it on a shelf in my office and never use it. Lol.

Two things I also noticed about those pics. Is that brass veneer around points and ring work under the ferrel? If so that is alsome.

hmm..i thought there was a pic of the points.. when i was just showing a guy on my pool league team who was a marine the pics, i didnt see the points...

maybe it just didnt come up for me.. i cant see photobucket pics here at work so i will have to wait till i get home...

he also said if he bought it, he would buy it to display it in his home bar/rec room..

Chris the first pic he has up does show the points.

I would just be hard struck to play with it. I am sure most marines are going to think the same thing. Like I am now I have cues I play with and I have cues that have never had more than a test hit. To me something with a Marine Corps image gets displayed and not used.

I recall this Medal being Refered to as a Fire Watch Medal back in the 1960's. I do not recall why it got the NICKNAME!
