the base is a 5/16 inch piece of aulm 19 by 21 inches. it will fit on your grizzly or jet 14 inch bandsaw. other brands might require drilling 4 mounting holes. you will have to replace your stock fence with this unit. i an leaving mine on my saw. it can be adjusted to straight cut a 4 inch wide board.
it is all aluminum accept the linear rails and the ball bearings, they are hardened steel. with this jig you have 16 inches of travel. this unit shown only has one clamp for holding the piece of wood i am thinking about adding a second clamp, will experment, and let you know later. the entire unit moves very smooth, the piece shown i cut by hand feed, but might also build a screw feed ? we installed this one on my saw with just eyeballing, but should be squared perfectly for best results.
if you buy one it will be shipped in a wood box, completly assembled, but all bolts will be a bit loose. you will need to remove the back rail and slide it onto your table then reattach the back rail. measure and square it up. then tighten.
this was made from the best materials i could find and it is not cheap.the unit will sell for $500.00 and actual shipping charges.

your will jot have quite as many holes in it as this one, remember we were experminting

the piece i cut is not perfect, but remember it was the first cut and table was just eyeballed.

Looks like you have a fine product on the way. Sure looks like it is build stout. And considering all your got here, I think your price is reasonable. Keep up the good work.

That's almost exactly the type of jig I have had in mind before. Utilizing slides and the pivot brackets like that, but I have never tried It. Very nice setup, It looks to be well made.

I may be interested if I can get my band saw tuned in well enough. I broke the blade and tire on My cheap saw, and was not worth fixing. A friend of mines wife was selling her Dad's tools from a small cabinet business that He use to own, and I got a package deal on a bandsaw, joiner, and dust collector, all delta's. Not the brand bandsaw I would have preferred, but It's a floor model, and I couldn't pass It up for the price, even If I only use It as a chop saw to replace the cheap one. I still haven't set them up and tried them out yet, Paint is good on everything, but has the typical surface rust on the plate surfaces that needs cleaned. I'm sure It will need a new blade and tuned up at minimum. Don't know If I'll be able to get It to cut straight enough for this though It's better then what I had, and I may be adding a better bandsaw in the future for more precise cuts anyhow.
 
If that Delta bandsaw is the 14" model just replace the guides with a high-quality aftermarket set and it will cut as true as anything out there.

Thanks I may try that. It is supposed to be a 14" but It may be one of the retail versions, and I have seen some of those called a 13-3/4". It also has an open base as opposed to the closed base models. It looks older though, It has a toggle switch instead of the green and red buttons like the newer models. The motor is also mounted at the back. I've seen some newer models similar to It with the motor underneath.
 
I built a sliding table for my 16" and it looks similar. Used cheaper guides from the same company that makes that extrusion. Price is perfect -- I think I paid more for parts and materials... One thing that I do not have worked out -- what do you use to finish it? After all, all saws have some kerf, and it will not be a sharp point if left as is. I am working on a precision angle ground hand saw. Any other ideas?

hey cue crazy check out iturra design he doesn't have a website but there have been people that created a pdf of his catalog that explains a lot about the 14 delta band saw , its weak points , how to tune , he is out of Jacksonville , Fl. you will have to call him to order anything if you like I can send you his number just let me know .

Just want to say Thanks You to the people here, and the ones that sent me a PM regarding the band saw. Looks like the guy is pretty close to My location, so I will be trying to get in contact with him when I'm ready to clean and set it up. I read up on him and His products a little bit through google searches, and It seems a lot of people have had good success using them.

Just so you understand. I am not giving a class or training you how to build a full splice cue. I will not teach you how to build cues. Get a hightower video that might help you understand pool cue construction. I am selling a jig to help you do the work.

It's amazing how straight a bandsaw can cut. I have a 20 year old cheap import with carter guides setup like in the video and it cuts as straight as my 3 phase 18" Italian Laguna. The Laguna is much more powerful, and cuts much smoother, but the cheap saw cuts straight now that I've equipped and set it up right.

You have designed a great unit, and the price seems to be too low.
All your material and labor is going for a major bargain rate. This setup
is more elaborate than mine and I seem to do ok, I am planning on a
new version soon. Your's look like it would be quite stable. It's always
a treat to see someone's solution to a building technique.
