If someone is useing the ghost ball system,to me this would imply that they're trying to hit a certain spot behind the ob. If your doing something else your not a ghostballer.


Would this be right? Think so.
While feel is in most every aspect of playing it sure doesn't mean your ghostballer .:rolleyes:

Totally agree. If you are looking at the ob last, you aren't using ghostball. Odds are you are using equal-opposite if you look at the ob last, whether you realize it or not.

If you're imagining the two balls colliding or the line before or after it crosses the OB, I think you're imagining a ghost ball.
An imaginary dot on the felt is NOT the only way to imagine a ghost ball.
If you visualize an aiming line , you're really visualizing the center of the ghost ball.

I think ghost ball is really more like a ghost DISC.

I guess you could call it what you want . When I actually imagine 2 balls colliding its the side of the cb I'm using not a ghost ball. To each his own I guess.

When pocketing balls you need objective things to build from.
On paper its looks good but in reality your far from the truth of things .

I'm looking at the contact point on the OB last, and trying to hit it with the appropriate contact point on the CB. I determine the appropriate contact points by visualizing where the CB needs to be at contact. AFAIK, that's ghost ball. If it's called something else just let me know and I'll start calling it that.

That's called Equal/Opposite. A very common method of aiming.

And you can call a Toyota a Cadillac. Doesn't mean it is one though. And everyone else will be looking for a Cadillac while you're talking about a Toyota.
 
From another post awhile back......if some adds.

I 'm so glad that I use ghost ball contact patch.

I never have to wonder what the degree of the angle is as it doesn't matter.....all shots are straight to where the CB needs to be.

I never have to look right at the OB when aiming just straight ahead where the CB needs to go.

I never have to use a different system for combo's, caroms, banks or kicks as it can be used on all shots.....ie, it works for both direct aiming and indirect aiming.

I never have to worry about where my feet or eyes are as it works from any shooting position......at times I shoot one handed while leaned over the table, no where near having my head over the cue stick.

I never have had the need for someone nor a DVD to explain it to me, it is so simple......or multiple DVD or threads to help understand how it works.

I never have to "see" the OB directly with CB to aim unlike other systems such as double the distance, fractional, and so on where the OB is needed for aiming unlike using a spot on the table......there is only one spot on the table to make the OB and CB go where you want it too. This applies to all systems.....again works for both direct aiming and indirect aiming.

The beauty is in it's simplicity.

Hopefully there is beauty in what your doing and at the end of the day your satisfied with your play. The thought of this one spot on the table applies to all system is wrong.

That one spot only belongs to the same hit,not saying use must use the same method for making the ball but how the cb is struck owns the spot .

The beauty in pocketing balls is the creation of an angle. ;)
