The Hustlers Episode 10: Season 1 Finale

Now that the season is over can you explain the deleted scene from the gym?

Thanks

Gary and Mike were supposed to spar...it never aired cause they didn't show the match that was played. As a matter of fact we tried to make a tally of all the matches that never saw the light of day and we lost track. They showed what they thought would make the best product though...it's over for now. Let's move on

It's cool. They made a good product, or at least it was enough to entertain me. I was just wondering what that scene was about.

I like Mikes attitude. His willingness to try out pickup for the first time on the streets of New York City (not easy), in front of a national audience was cool. He seems like a pretty cool dude.

They were "supposed" to spar?

Did they ever spar?

How did it go?

I would not be disappointed, pool matches take time and you only had 10 hours total to tell the whole story. I think they did a good job with the editing, you got a sense of what took place in the matches they showed.

Who owns all the footage. I would love to see it all on line. All the matches and out takes from The Hustlers. It may be as good as the original show.

I for one was sad when it was over. I hope it gets renewed. I enjoyed the characters and that make up of the show. I'm hoping a 2nd season is in the works.

Not to worry. When one door closes, another opens. We are now
going to be treated with "I Am Cait" .... The Bruce (Caitlyn) Jenner
in Drag Spectacle. The Hustlers will soon be a distant memory.
Now, if we could get her/him on The List, Hustlers would surely
be renewed for another gay-lorious season.

I have to agree. While I do like Manny...it was a bit anti-climactic considering the battle for the list. Storyline Faux pas

I think the final was meant to introduce more characters for a next season. That's the only thing i can come up with. At the time of the filming, I'm guessing they were very hopeful on that. Now i guess everyone is just hoping-me amongst them.

I'm sad the season is over already. I really enjoyed the show! Some of the characters were annoying and there were some obvious inconsistencies in what was shown on the table, but I get how it was shot and edited and I never really expected thst part to be perfect all the time. Overall, I found it fun and entertaining and I really liked most of the characters on the show. I'm happy anytime I can watch something pool related and I'll be hoping for a second season!

Exactly

I feel the exact same way . I am hoping for a season 2. I loved it.

I too hope the show gets renewed for a second season. I enjoyed it immensely. Is it factual. Yes and no. Every time they do a little interview vignette, in that room with the tables that have red cloth, the person talking always says something about their particular match that rings familiar to me. The ladies, minus Amy, are all classy. The guys seem pretty familiar to me in my pool travels. Don't we all know guys that are at least similar to Finnigan, Gary, etc.even though their personalities are exaggerated. Yup I'll take a second season over 95% of the other shows that are on the tube.

I watched the final episode today. I have to agree with someone earlier who said it was funny that Mike was complaining about a tournament director who changed his handicap right before the match started, and who had a monetary stake in the tournament.

I also want to agree with someone else who said it was a failure that unknowns were in the finals of the big season-ending tournament. Those who have been saying it's all a set up need to explain that.

Looking forward to a second season. I think they'd need to bring in some new characters. They did bring in Mike and Jarrod to New York from elsewhere.

I think it's funny and a little ironic that all season everyone complains on here about how they believe matches were "fixed" and the final tournament couldn't do anything but disprove that theory by having the steinway's owner and Jorge meet in the finals.

Loved the show and that it improved as the season went along (my favorite two episodes were when they travelled to AC and the last tourney because they were 90% pool), wish there would have been a few more episodes and agree with an earlier poster that I bet a show of bloopers and cut matches would be entertaining. Hope another season comes about, and thanks Mikey Frost for coming on and answering so many questions.

Edit for typos

I don't think the match was fixed, but it seems the people getting handicaps played good. I think getting 5 to 11 and the 6 or whatever would normally be a fair game between Mike and Emily, but I doubt that Mike would take that game if he had a better say in things.

I played Mike a few sets to 11 and lost with scores of about 5-6 to 11, but with no ball spots, figuring Emily plays at a strong B level, the spot is almost even.

Gary's melt-down, I'm sure we've all been there minus the yelling (well maybe some with the yelling also LOL), being up a bunch then starting to dog it when you start thinking "hey, I'm going to win here" and forgetting to shoot and aim the damn ball.

Although I started out being very skeptical on the show with all the game edits, I am almost 100% in the opposite side now after posts by the cast (Frost really) and the interview that was posted with Finnegan. The end of the season kinda showed up fast and now it looks like there will be no more.

I liked the show overall. I would like to see the show continue. But from what I can tell from facebook posts by Emily and Jennifer the show seems to still be up in the air when it comes to a 2nd season. It would help matters to have members of this forum write TruTV network and tell them u want to see a 2nd season.

Season 2 would be nice...maybe we could see a little more of the Frosty one.

Although I enjoyed watching each episode, IMO, the producers failed to link and add suspense from show to show. It was almost like you could watch all the shows in any order and not miss a beat.

Oh well, hopefully this opens a door for pool...

Finally got around to watching the show last night, and it actually held my interest for awhile, mostly because that didn't depend on the "list" gimmick. Seemed the game editing was better too. Maybe they're finding their legs...?

I even cared enough to think that douche Ross needs a good slapping.

Why in Hell didn't they let Earl do a cameo? The Pearl wooing the entire cast would have been priceless. Too many strong characters in NYC not to have had a segment on each show.
