The kid who slept in the cabinet at DCC, AZB room.

There was a young guy who wanted to become a champion pool player and he posted regularly on AZB quite a few years back. I can't remember his screen name or name.

He went to one of the Derby City Classics and I remember him sleeping in a cabinet in the AZ Billiards room.

Just wondering if he kept trying to become a pro player and what his current still level is today. I also wonder if anyone else remembers this guy.

That rings a very faint bell. What year are you thinking of that this took place? Old place or new place?

goingproin07 he made a few posts in 2006 and then was gone.

I think it was the first or second year of the AZB Room at Exec West...I believe Cliff has the correct screen name.

He was very optimistic. I kind of liked that. Guess it didn't work out. Oh wait, pros don't like to post on AZB.

There were some young guns passing through town from Ohio recently who parted with some of my cash. It would be kind of cool to see goinproin07 to slip up on ole JoeyA.

I think it was 2006 at the Executive west. I remember seeing a kid climbing into a cabinet. It was the first year they put up the tarp with the AZ names.

I walked in once and Grady is being asked where so and so is and he answers. "He's over there in his room by the pool" Two seconds later the kid comes out in about 3 sections from under the sink (Grady's 'pool') Pretty funny but i've seen plenty pick worse spots.

I can't believe I read this whole thread when I had no clue who this was about. But then... someone mentioned his name...
I played him some last year in Chattanooga! Let's just say he's not playing professionally, though he plays OK. He beat me in 9ball and I beat him in 1pocket. He has a career in welding and I think he was newly married or getting married. He was in Chattanooga for awhile then I didn't see him anymore. Super nice guy...

This thread makes me miss the old DCC days at the Executive West. The Derby is still great, but it was a different vibe back then.

That was my only time meeting Grady in person. He was an amazing guy! It was also the only time I met Timberly and Marissa! :p

Grady was a unique person and listened to his own drummer. I enjoyed his visits and company quite a lot as well as his sweet wife, Randi. RIP U 2!
