Hi,

Here is "The Moon Shot Cue" ready for the spray booth and clear coating. It is a 5 point 4 veneer ebony cue with 30 silver stitch rings built on a 29" maple dowel rod core.

Fresh out of the studio, my partner and artist Ken Simonsen just put the finishing touches to the piece last night.

This cue joins our collection of Ken's artistic expression depicted on these select choreographed specific Esoteric Cue designs. We have 3 more cues in the box at this time at the art studio and will be revealing "The Old West", "Orca II", and "The Civil War" cues in the next few weeks with many more to come in our "History of the World Artistic Cue Collection".

World War II will be depicted as a trilogy. Land, illustrating soldiers, tanks artillery and such. Sea, showing naval battles including Pearl Harbor. Air, showcasing all of the great warbirds and off coarse the Enola Gay.

I will replace and post more detailed and professional photos tomorrow to reveal some close up details of this cue.

Thanks for looking,

Rick G

This cue is dedicated to all the talented and special people who made up the NASA Space Program Apollo Mission Team. Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins are truly the greatest pioneers in the earth's history who's courage and technical aviation skills made H.G. Well's, Werner Van Brown's and John F. Kennedy's dreams and visions into a reality.

Ken and I have about 20 art cues in various stages of concept, design and execution. This cue has been high on our list for over 2 years and it is great to see it come to fruition.

The "Maestro", Kenny, putting the final artistic touches to the cue in his art studio. He makes this look easy, how sick is that!

Rick..I'd like to be the first to say...HOLY S#$#! That looks amazing!

Are you trying to get your cues put in a museum or art gallery? Because a collection of cues like this sure qualifies for one.

Bravo on both your and Ken's work!

Thanks for sharing,

Kevin

Kevin,

Thanks for recognizing Ken's great art talent. I only create the canvas for his creativity. It is a lot of fun developing the design concepts for these cues but when it comes down to it, Ken has the final words on what comes off the brush.

Ken is truly a visionary and IMO he is changing the culture of what can be considered as artful expression on cues via his media, air brush and fine sable liner brush. His background as the artist / designer for Pool and Billiards Magazine starting at 17 years of age and doing all of those great covers and inside art gives him the unique billiards experience and understanding it takes to express himself artistically on custom art cues.

Ken truly is an amazing artist! The ability to paint that on a cylindrical object just blows my mind! (Well...I'm kinda amazed that someone can do that on a flat surface as well!) :p

Beauty!

Jason,

The most challenging part of this cue as Ken described to me was the Saturn Five Rocket painted rotating on the cue covering 3/4s of the vertical cylinder. You must also consider that the cylinder is also a parabolic tapered curved geometry. Ken had to scratch his head a few times to deliver the correct perspective. When you see this cue in person the rocket's image is truly larger than life. Also, I really dig how he made the rocket's exhaust cross the line of the butt sleeve silver ring with the blend of transparent fire color.

Thanks,

Rick

Buzz Aldren?

I have been a NASA geek since I was a kid. As it happens I was doing some reading on the topic over the last couple days.

I'm not one for "theme" cues, but this one certainly is a home run.

Apparently, I'm just a geek...no "theme" to my geekdom...just a common ordinary sort of geek!

Rick - I didn't even consider the fact that it is not a perfect cylinder and that the parabolic geometry would have to be factored in as well...it makes my head spin just typing it...let alone him having to figure it all out and then execute! I need more coffee...

Thanks Ken,

That really shows the view in a 2 D world.

The detail in this cue is SICK. When you see this cue in person the faces look real. Another fine looking cue Rick!
