The only guy to be allowe free entry into the world pool championships

Happens in other sports, not just pool.
For example Victor Garcia, Sergio's dad, has gone to the The European PGA Seniors Tour Q School several times without winning his playing card, yet for several years now he receives a sponsors invitation into the field for most European PGA Seniors Tour events. It is no coincidence that he himself sponsors an event on the tour every year. He is a fairly competent player, an interesting character and an asset to the events in which he participates.
By all means argue against the principle of any wild cards and/or any sponsor invitations ever being incorporated into the numbers for any given event, but once that argument/discussion over the basic principle of it is over (and in the case of the World 8 Ball that discussion/argument was decided upon several years ago) that should be it.......if the decision is not to have any that's fine, but if the decision is otherwise then the wild card distributors and/or sponsors should be left to get on with inviting anyone they themselves see fit to invite, as in this case.

I haven't made it up to Fujairah Qualifiers...... managed by some fluke to score well enough in round one to make it into the very last group to tee off in the second round of the Golf Order of Merit event I was involved in so by the very late time I got finished had no choice but to hotfoot it straight back to Abu Dhabi at the end of weekend. The video camera concealment skills and prince bodyguard avoidance tactics have therefore yet to be tested.To rub salt in it a 16 year old kid (+2 handicap amateur) playing in my group shot 3 under off the 7,400 yard tips in a howling wind in that second round (5 under through last 6 holes with a lip out for another birdie on 18) to add to his 1 over on day one, soundly thrashing me and everyone else who was still in contention.
Will need to find another sport that's easier on decrepit never has beens........tiddleywinks anyone?
that's too bad. on other news, Tiger finished 2nd again in the MASTERS. the par 5s killed his chances. oh well.

Tiddleywinks requires far more hand/finger coordination than pool.
Try watching the telly.

I've played 14.1 for over 30 years and to this day I am a threat to throw triple digit runs at anybody at any time if the balls open up for me. I have earned the respect of many of the best players in the world by sparring with them and assisting them coaching - and providing them with guidance on strengthening their games and preparing for this particular event.
just to clarify blackjack you called me out a month ago and said when i come to america you would give me 250 start first to 1000 at straight pool for $5,000 i since said in another post yes i accept but you did not reply.
are we still playing this game? because you threw this game/bet at me and i definatly want to play?
i want to experience this 30 years of knowledge and triple digit runs first hand, and if it only costs me $5,000 to do it great let me know

I have no problem with WPA giving out Wild Card slots to royalty of a sovreignty as long as they also dish it out to the royalty of the sport, Efren. Or is Efren just good at one-pocket and not at 8-ball?

He lost his second consecutive game in th 8 ball championships booting him out of the competition on day 2.
The Prince lost 8-1 to Bruno Muratore of Italy
So he basically won 2 games for the whole of the tournament...GOOD GOING PRO PRINCE BILLAH
Maybe he had a bad day again, but tournament after tournament the same thing happens.
I suggest he plays in the handicap for retards 8 ball champions, (no discrespecting those fine player as well, they play great inspite of what they've got). Maybe he might win a game.
I think its time for the WPA to do something about this because its gone beyond a side show.
I think some of the comments about the Prince are a little over the top.
Maybe he is no champion, but he has a great deal of passion for the game. Maybe in his country, he is one of the best, and if so, then so be it.
To ridicule him in this manner seems cruel to me. Pool needs people just like the Prince to help promote it as a sport around the world. Why slam someone who happens to love the game, the same as we do right here on this forum?!

couldn't had agreed more. though personally I don't like the way things or certain news revolve around him being in the highest level competition, the insults are just way over the top. it's ok to be sarcastic, but using such defamatory words are unacceptable for learned individuals. I, myself don't like the prince, but I wouldn't resort to using such words.

The jokes, the name calling and the ridiculing does nothing to help the forum ingratiate itself with the Prince. The negative comments about the Prince reflects poorly on this forum.
The Prince would have to be a far bigger man than I think he is to spread his money outside of the Middle East.
This forum's tolerance of the jokes, ridicule and name calling of the Prince does nothing to move him toward becoming more philanthopic toward our sport.

There was a time not so long ago that the people who are making such derogatory comments about a prince would end up in a river or a dungeon, regretting any word they had spoken or written. I would suggest that none of these people ever chance to travel to Brunei even today...
