"The plane, Boss. The plane"

I can't help but remember the TV show, "Fantasy Island" in the 70's. Where a well dressed millionaire Mr. Roarke, played by Ricardo Montalban, (who reminds me of Mr. Trudeau) lived on a Fantasy Island with his little helper Tattoo, (played by Herve Villechaize), who resembles Deno Andrews. They bring guests to this luxurious place, (which reminds me of the IPT tournament locations) and make their fantasys come true, or at least seems to. But, did it really happen or was it a dream...

In the latest interview with Billiards Digest, Mr. Trudeau has shown his distaste for the members, which does not surprise me. Apparently, this is what he really thinks. It must be grandiose to sit on his throne.

His very candid message rings loud and clear. It is obvious that Mr. Trudeau has no understanding of the life of a pool player, or the life of a non millionaire, let alone what it means to be on a fixed income. His statements were rude, callous, condescending and noncommittal to the longevity of the IPT.

In the latest of snafus from the IPT, and futile attempt to promote and secure more income from the players, we have their latest "Press Release". Apparently, the latest discharge of personal at the IPT Office has proved detrimental to the fundamentals of the IPT.

What is a Press Release? It is a means of notifying the press of an event or news story that will happen in the future. It is essentially an event reminder that is in a format that makes it easy for journalists to record the event in their calendars or day planners.

By no means is the announcement of a "Membership Club" of great importance for a Press Release. They seem to use it as a staple for all their correspondence. Everything is a "Press Release" in their book. Hey Tattoo, let's try a press release that says "The players have been paid in full". Sadly, the importance of their press releases have now lost all creditability.

It was admirable of John Schmidt to thank Mr. Trudeau for what he has done, but keep in mind that Mr. Trudeau didn't form The IPT for the love of the game. He did it for himself. He is an opportunist, and always has been. There was an "opportunity" here for him and he jumped. Would Mr. Trudeau have ventured into this if he didn't think there was money to be made? You can answer that one yourself. The problem is, his inexperience, the poor judgment he showed choosing the personnel to represent him and the game, and the complete waste of finances to bring it to where it is now.

Do you really think Mr. Stanley Ho is buying a business that is in the red? Why wouldn't he just start his own? The IPT has little at this point, and considering they will have lost their players if there are no funds, then why should any person in their right mind, buy this? Common folks, I know you are smarter than that! The KING of Sting, Kevin Trudeau, also known as Mr. Roarke is doing a line dance on each and everyone of you.

It is now in the hands of the public and pool community to advise all players connected with this tour and other unsuspecting people with their hard earned cash in hand, NOT to buy into the IPT until the players have been paid. If that even happens......

Make a copy of the BD interview, bring it to your local pool hall, show the people what Mr. Trudeau really thinks. It's up to you, not to let this spiral out of control as many of Mr. Trudeau's other businesses have.

Yeap, it was "Fantasy Island" alright!

Three hours have passed and no one has responded to this post; which by the way, is expressed in an orderly fashion.

The ones that blindly believed in the IPT, never listened that this whole scheme was just another "fantasy island" chapter in pool. They did not care about the background of KT; they did not care about past failures or attempts, and they were all blinded by the glitter of the promised gold.

People who tried to warn our fellow posters were attacked because "we had a hidden agenda", or that "we were not really supporting the players", or we were some "head honcho" that was taken aback because of KT's refusal to comply with WPA requirements, or that we were jealous because it would affect our businesses, or that our "security" was affected by the new "competiton", and all kinds of really stupid stuff, for lack of a better word.

These people who defended KT so blindly, are now nowhere in sight. They must have recognized that the IPT has failed badly and they are now lost in words.

Great damage has been done by the IPT, and now it will take quite a long time to heal those wounds again, but no one wanted to listen........

I believe things have gotten quiet on both sides lately, because there is really nothing left to say. The entire case has been thoroughly hashed out by both sides. There really are only three core arguments that can be made:

1. KT is proving his colors, and will leave owing people money.
2. Even is #1 is true, KT was still God's greatest gift to the "sport" of pool, forever and ever, amen.
3. Call me naive, but hope is my strength.

Lather, rinse, repeat, ad nauseum. It's tired and tiring.

NB: Jasper's worthless rants are a point off the curve. Even the remaining "hopeful supporters" can't muster the same level of glib shillery Jasper spews with every salvo from his tripe cannon.

I do not agree with this at all and the reason is that this fiasco is just going to make it 10 times harder for the next person (or group) to gain the player's or public's confidence.

In my eyes he has took most of the foreward movment pool has made over the last two decades away........Even if he does end up paying the players he has made us fans and players not look to bright.

(and the newest poolroom term for not paying a debt is "He Trudeau'd me!")

You don't know pool players well, then. Anyone who ever offers decent money in a tourney will have all the pool players he or she could ever want banging down their doors.

Doesn't matter if they are a convicted murderer who did their time and got out. Heck, they could be a convicted child molestor. If they put up even 30-40K for first in a tourney, the pros will be more than happy to stand there smiling for the camera with the "benefactor".

Pool players just don't care. It's AWWWWWLLL about the money. That's the main reason they are letting themselves be degraded by not speaking out against Trudeau. They don't want to see the purse strings get cinched up. They are willing to sacrifice their self worth in vain hope that this slime ball will pay them.

I asked Deno about the press releases that are mentioned above, by the BM Man in this thread. Deno felt that each one of the press releases sent out by the IPT were worthy of being press releases.

I have to admit, this has got to be the funniest thing I have seen in awhile.. You guys have way tooooooo much time on your hands!

On the mark here. Not much I can add. Another sad chapter for Pool. Not the players fault. All blame to KT, Deno and their accomplices. No money for the players, but some well deserved court time for the above, preferably criminal and not just civil. I will be more than willing to appear as a witness at my expense.

Wouldn't it be great if someone could hack into the IPT website & put that up on their home page.
