The Real Reason Not To Play 15 ball Rotation?

Are they scared a player from the PI will win every tournament?
Not enough luck in it?
Too long for TV? Who cares?
You need ALL the skills of bank pool, 14.1, 3 cushion, all the pool games?
You won't see many runouts, much less a two-pack?

I still say if you can do one-hole tournaments you can do best of three or five 15 ball rotation games played like 10 ball. Who ever legally pockets the 15 ball wins the game. Johnnyt

I'm with you Johnnyt. 15 ball is a great game. Lots of challenges at the start of each game and some good possibility for strategic moves and great shot making.

Also, if you happen to be a fan of 9 ball or 10 ball, well guess what, once there's 2 or 3 balls down, that's exactly what you will be playing then ha ha ha.

IMO, TV ruined pool. Unfortunately, there's no future without it. You'll never see 15 rotation, or 14.1 for that matter, on the tube. Maybe Earl should learn to juggle?

I haven't watched pool on TV for years.

Make a tough game. The mass population is never going to get into pool, we all need to get past that thought process.

Live streaming money matches is cool, but I am tired of watching pattern racking 10 ball over and over. Maybe need to set up a 15 ball rotation money game with 3/4 players for some serious $???

I saw a live stream or a rotation money Match not too long ago.. If memory serves me correctly it was Ronnie Alcano and Max Eberle. I for one found it to be exciting they not go by games, they went by points ( race to 150) and I think the 15 was worth 2 points.

Accu-stats has a DVD of Efren and Busty playing rotation with filipino rules in a race to 8. Didn't take very long. I would love to see a tourney with the top players played like that!

Thank you for the tip on the Accu-Stats DVD... I will get it. Johnnyt

Here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFisdhw3dpg long match but they all did a great job of play and presentation (povpool) for never having seen the game before and just receiving the rules prior to the match.

I'm all for it............

Pool can get pretty boring or anything game for that matter if it is too easy for the majority.
We still need the good old nine ball game but the other games are tremendously needed also.
Believe it or not I played my first games of bank pool last night and really liked it.
You need to play allot of shape. Know the rails. Be able to aim.
it puts all your pool skills to the challenge.
I'm going to start playing one pocket also.
Nobody hardly wants to play 9 ball but everyone will play banks or one pocket.
They know that at least they will get to participate.
This bonus ball would be the best thing for pool when it gets off the ground.

I'm really excited about what this could do for pool. I talked to Barry in a PM the other day. I think he is on the right track.

In fact I would do whatever I could do to help promote it mainly because i do think it would be good for pool.

There is no clear cut favorite in that game and you need all your skills and smarts for sure.

Great post there Mr Johnnyt

Whats going on here?

No one likes 9 Ball..., No one likes 10 Ball??? Only in America! I think the problem is that the Ameaican players arent winning. If they could compete then there would be non of this talk.

Every gams has a short coming, I love banks, but I dont want to see two guys bang balls into the rails all night, if they cant bank I aint watch'n that

Pool just need more money and more good American players, right now there are only a few, Archer, Rodney and SVB?

That's definitely not my problem. I'm leaning towards rotation in an effort to create equal opportunity and to reward players for better play, I don't care where they live ;)

Honestly I think american pros don't bother with 15b or rotation because lots of players like 10 ball. It ain't broke so why fix it?

Ten ball is challenging, fast, not too much luck, and requires banks/jumps/kicks. Sure you need to play a longer race, but that's not a bad thing for us ADD sweaters.

I wouldn't object to some new game, but I don't think american pros are 'ducking' rotation, they just aren't over 10b yet.

IMO being "boring" is not the reason why pool is not on tv or why its not popular. I mean look at golf, it's right up there with pool when it comes to being "boring". But, then also its more popular, more people watch golf and even though i think golf is harder to learn than pool there are a ton of people that want to get into it.
I think it comes down to the "image" of the game. There was a time in US when pool was at its peak, I want that time to come back but I for sure can't tell if it will ever happen.
