The ruinination of AZ Billiards

I think I found the offending comments. Worth a look. see post #13 quote and on. It did get, shall we say, heated. All over a littte teenie weenie inlay of all things. Those tiny little inlays have a way of getting under our skin!

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=417404

So Harris makes a crappy comment out of the blue on a guy's very positive thread, implying that the inlays on a Searing are not real.

He proceeds to get called out by some of the more long term, well regarded, and frequently contributing members for being a douche.

Now he is mad and leaving the site.

I think this place sucks most of the time, but in this situation, all is right in the world.

Ah. I see.

Well, that's awkward.

I mean, it's easy enough to tell. He can buy a searing and saw or grind through the part in question and post a Youtube video of the event.

He wanted pics, he can easily supply them himself. Simple. :)

I have a feeling the outcome would not be what he would like, but it is a simple matter to settle.

OK, so there aren't many for sale. Just offer a higher than normal price and he'll get one to "test". Simple enough.

I had not read that thread before. Personally I find it amusing that the OP found the best thing about the cue was the fact that it had never been chalked. LOL! I would think there might be some better things than that about a Searing cue! :D Yeah, I get it. But it was still funny. :)

Miraculously I found a pic of the inlay, before it is inlaid.

Shown below.

So there you go. A fight worthy of most marriages, I would say.

Really? Hell Ive been in arguments on here where I was ready to board a plane and fly halfway around the world to choke the living dogshit out of some keyboard jockey. Lol. And this guy thinks THIS lil ass chewing is bad? While ive never been banned (yet) id bet a crispy hundy that Mr. Wilson has had his finger on the button several times regarding my poor decisions to not hold back on here. lol. I know ive been away for a couple years, but i sure hope we didnt get too many candy asses that cant take being called out when they are clearly in the wrong while I was away. Now if you will excuse me, Ive got to get back to acting like an adult.

Good luck to all who is still here and has to put up with the people who ruined az billiards.

If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to
defeat his enemy.
A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a person of color is conservative, they see themselves as
independently successful.
Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of
government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his
situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion
silenced. (Unless it’s a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative decides he needs healthcare, he goes about shopping
for it, or may choose a job that providesit.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and
is embarrassed.
If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he's in
labor and then sues.

If a conservative reads this, he'll show it to his friends and have
a good laugh.
A liberal will delete it because he's "offended

IF A PERSON DOES NOT LIKE AZBILLIARDS, well, you get the picture, have a great day, Thanks.

He's just pissed cause he can't sell his cues ,, but it's not because of the site ,, when a good deal hits the board it's gone in minutes sometimes ,,

The reality is ,the cue market has not recoverd from the bad economy and the middle to low custom built cues are suffering the most and that's where his cues fall ,
Along with that , production cues have risen in quality so they become a better bang for the buck

Sorry it's been shitty for you harris.

At times I don't like the tone of people on AZ, and the moderation (or lack of it).
But for the most part it's an ok place. You can just participate in the parts that are good,
and ignore the parts that are bad.

Which is tougher than it sounds, it means someone makes a comment that offends you
on some level, but you just let it pass because you understand, deep down inside,
nothing you say will change how they think or what they want to believe.

And there's a competitive thing all of us (especially the males) have where we want
to be right, and we want to look smart, and we want to win arguments.
You gotta let that stuff all go. Just enjoy the parts of AZ that you like,
ignore the parts you don't, take what you want from it.
Do more reading and less replying and zero arguing.

For me, that mindset has allowed me to come back to AZ (after some fairly long breaks)
and just enjoy it for what it is, not what I wish it was.

This thread has no positive value for the Forum and belongs in the trash.

People fleeing az billiards for other places to post cues, sell cues, and have discussions. This has become almost as negative as jimbos aholes.
A select few that think they own az billiards and run roughshod over any that disagrees with them or questions there motives to sell the cues that they own at over inflated prices. It"s a shame this once great forum has denigrated into a social club for the supposed chosen few.
The cue and case has become a grave yard of old cues as no one wants to post anything as the negativity is over the top. Even the moderators chime in when they are supposed to be moderating.
Good luck to all who is still here and has to put up with the people who ruined az billiards.

I believe too many Azers reading the OP missed the point........the Forum has steadily deteriorated
in terms of civility and even the diversity and quality of threads & posts. It's become mob ruled and I
think Mr. Harris simply put a spotlight on the situation that other Azers also have previously attempted to do.

Robert,
Don't sing any dirges just yet. AZB has corrected their errors in regards to aiming sub-forums and who knows what other corrections might be coming down the road.

Hang in there. Eventually management may realize that some of the loud whiney-babies are just trying to manage this website as their own and it seems that recently, the management has started coming to their senses.

Or maybe you need a scroll-down system.

Good point. A guy spends a bunch of money on a beautiful cue and amidst the congratulations and admiration of the cue, right away there is some other guy questioning whether the inlay is really an inlay. And then when he gets pushback, he deletes his post like a little girl, refusing to stand behind what he says, but unwilling to man up and apologize.

And then he starts a thread about how negative the board is.

Makes perfect sense.

I've always said this about internet forums: The people who complain the loudest about other posters are always the worst.
