The Sky Is Falling

It seems to me based on comments here from those across the pond that the Euro pool culture is just simply better in almost all aspects...

It's not obvious to me this is true. About 3 years ago in a TAR interview, Darren Appleton spoke about why he moved to the USA. He said the pool scene was much better here, specifically there was always some tournament going on or gambling opportunity.

A few years ago I looked on the Euro Tour web site and it only listed 8 events for the year. So the idea that the European players have tons of high paying tournaments to keep them sharp seems a myth.

My heart goes out to the guy, when you're trying and it's not there and your confidence goes, it's a horrible horrible game.

I feel the same way .. felt really bad for SVB as he lost tonight's match against Shaw. I would hate to be in his shoes ... This is brutal game ..

Until 4-2 I thought it was the first time I saw SVB play pure class in the Mosconi. When it started to go wrong he couldn't produce. If he sleeps tonight it won't be deeply.

Did you guys see that horrible shot on the 7 when he was partners with Oscar? When he followed it to leave an angle to get from the 8 to the 9, and left Oscar too steep? That was the worst mistake I saw. Such an easy position.

Yea, all he had to do was roll the 7 in the corner. Instead he over hit it came of the short rail way to far. Oscar bailed him out by making the 8. Very sad play by both Sky and Shane today.
