The "V"

I was in position to put up a decent run tonight and missed a straight-in, short shot on #50. After I pulled my hair out for being so stupid, I realized I'm putting myself in a lot more positions to put up bigger runs because of Lee Brett's "V" technique. When focusing on the V during the follow-through, I've been feeling a lot more solid through the CB. It's been 6-weeks since I learned it and I've really started to feel comfy with it these past two weeks.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank Lee for that. Sometimes small adjustments pay off big dividends - this just happens to be an example.

Thanks
Dave

Are you using the V in combination with the elbow drop? Sounds like your time spent with Lee is really going to pay off in the long run.

I hope Lee Brett passes through New Orleans with the CSI crew. I will be on their one yard line.

JoeyA (wants to know the V and many other things that Lee knows.)

I really hope to make an investment if I see Lee at the DCC if it is one of his scheduled stops next year.

That's right! I forgot about that already. I will be there and I will try to beat Roy out of some dough to pay for the lesson.

GREAT IDEA Chi2dxa!

Lee, I will see you at Derby City Classic next month.

I am a pool lesson freak. I will attempt to learn just about anything about pool.

(I think I will just convince Roy that he needs to take the pool lesson with Lee Brett while he is here in the best country in the world for pool and then tell him because of his language deficiencies I will help him assimilate the lesson. :-) ) I may even let him call me a nit and not call him an a-hole in return. LOL

Thanks,

JoeyA

Dave im glad to hear that the V has helped your game.

When i 1st showed you the V and how it works, i also said it would take time but once you got it and worked on it, that it would transform your game, giving you more control and feel over every shot.

Once again glad to help and keep working hard you will get a 50 lol

Joey,

That is mighty sporting of you, . . . if he is paying!

Back to the topic of the thread, I watched the snooker "V" video. They were talking in some furrin' language(british or sumthing) so I didn't understand much but I saw a "V" from the back and I noticed a grip change that didn't really work for me. However while playing with it I found yet another "V".

My thumb usually leads my forefinger slightly on my cue, something that seems to be a place to induce steering in my stroke. Even bending my thumb I found that if I tucked the tip of it between the "V" of my fore finger and middle finger it moved my thumb back to a location basically in between the location of my first two fingers on the opposite side of the stick forming yet another "V" and what seems to be a much more mechanically balanced grip.

More "V"s than Carter has liver pills and I have to admit this grip feels most peculiar and odd after a few decades gripping my cue differently. Think I'll play with the grip awhile before giving up on it though. One minor detail, can't use the slip stroke with this grip.

Spidey can maybe put you in touch with Lee Brett, but, as I'm sure you're aware, Lee is banned from AZ.

And, Spidey is vacationing in Mexico until this coming Thursday, so if you do query him to get Lee Brett's contact information, he (Spidey) probably won't be able to reply until Thursday or even Friday.

Just FYI,
-Sean

Lee Brett

Lee is looking for a pool room here in the U.S.A. who is interested in hiring him as their house pro. If anyone is looking for a house pro, they can contact Lee Brett on Facebook. He's in England right now, working with some of the other pros including Darren Appleton, if I am not mistaken.

I think Lee is also interested in working here in the U.S., possibly even at a pool room....

Just when I thought that I was going to get a tip --I get a teaser.
