The worst case of sharking?

I am pretty sure as a player or captain, i would have nicely asked him to stop. Then i would have been rude and asked him to stop. Then i would have unscrewed my cue. given my cue keys and wallet to someone i trust and beat the shit out of him and went to jail.

Well, I woke up this morning, and I'm still just steaming over this, so I thought that if I shared I could get some ideas on how to handle it. Last night in my APA leauge match I had the displeasure of playing one of the most arrogant people I've ever met. It started out with him downplaying his rank, which was a 6, like he was way overrated. OK, whatever, I know BS when I hear it. Then the match starts and I'm down on my shot taking my warmup strokes and he yells out "Don't shot that ball, take a time out". Well, I don't know about yall but that upset me just a little. Then after that rack he decided to take on the responsibilty of being a coach to both teams and procede to tell me what I did wrong on my run. I just smiled and nodded, they whole time just stewing on the inside. Next rack I get down to the 8 ball and he grabs the rack and stands right in my line of sight waving it back and forth but I nail it home. I guess that he still didnt think that he had quite crossed the line far enough, so when a song comes on the jukebox (that is blasting) that he likes, he runs to grab a cordless mic from a back room and procedes to sing karaoke in between shots. Then he sings karaoke DURING his shots. He comes to the table singing, SITS THE MIC ON THE TABLE and then shoots, picks the mic back up and continues singing. At this point my head is about to explode but I tried my best to stay focused on the game but I admit it got to me. I thought it was disrespectful to me and the game. I worked hard and got to hill-hill but lost the match. I have read alot of posts on here bashing the APA and the social players but I couldn't relate because I have had a great experience (in my 2 sessions) untill now. I now understand everyones gripes and complaints. I take pride in everything that I put effort into including my growing pool game but to play against someone that makes a mockery out of pool is just infuriating. Thank you for letting me vent and any advice on how to handle these situiations would be great. Thanks.

Well, that may top the cake! I have never seen anything like that! Was the guy wasted? Unbelievable! I agree with Gunzby, KT would not put up with that.

Hey, thats what friends are for...

Swrooster

And that guy is famous for it. Even the DJ announces "lock up your women, Felix is in the House" But you got to like Felix, he does it with style.

BTW I will now practice singing while I shoot. :grin-square:

The singing was a distraction from his true intention -- laying the microphone on the table, clearly he was using it as a measuring device. A foul, under most rules

Its been a long time since I have played APA, so I dont remember all of "their" rules. Best thing I can tell you is to read and study the rule book so you know what you can and cant complain about.

As an example, grabbing the rack in most leagues and tournaments is a sign of conceeding the game. I would not have shot the 8ball once he picked up the rack. But you need to know if this is how the APA calls it.

As far as his singing, while pobably tasteless and most likely off key, Im not sure he was doing anything wrong by thier rule book.

Fortunately it was my experience that you will meet more nice people in the APA and fewer of these types. Unfortuantely the few like him can make the entire league less fun to play.

Just leave the guy alone, because when they are that high up on the douchebag totem pole, there is just nothing you can do to change them.

By the way, how was his singing?

As much as I hate to admit it, his singing was OK.

A pool shark and a good singer! This guy must be a chick magnet!:grin-square:

There are probably no rules against this specific act of sharking, but it sure is unsportsmanlike conduct. Let your league operator know about it. Once he gets a few complaints about the same person he will have to do something about it. I would imagine that person has pissed other people off before, and will do it again.

And I thought it was bad last night playing with someone with Bipolar Disorder. Not joking or making fun of the guy. He needs to seek help. He was nowhere near as bad as the person you played.

STICK P.S. I KNOW I TRIED IT:confused::confused:

The Singing Shark ladies and gentlemen....

Just one ?... was this superstarsinging during all of his matches or just the matches with you? Out of all the advise that has been given it breaks down into two main option categories:

1:Dont play till he sits the f down and shuts the f up...he doesn't stop forfeit

2:Physically bring harm to him....a pool cue seems to be the most popular tool suggested by this AZ group!! LOL

Seriously though... this is some really funny shit IMO :lmao::lmao:

The upside to something like this for many APA sandbaggers is that their rating might go down. Many of them consider this a dream situation.

y'all aren't very creative....pay a chick $20, $50, whatever it takes, to go up to the guy, knee him in the nads and loudly state, "don'tchu ever go near my sister again", or "that's for not EVER calling me back", or even something as simple as "I HATE THAT SONG!", and walk out. Everybody wins as I see it...

I like the "I HATE THAT SONG" best.

I really like the way you think.

That's the best suggestion I've seen so far.
