So effortless.
Some of his brute power performances at the past few turning stone's were a sight to behold. My only lament was that there wasn't enough video setups to record them all.
I'm going to be on the waiting list for the Ko vs Shaw DVD...that's worth viewing a hundred times over the next few years. I'm still on a high from that match and the excellent pool displayed for us all.
The speed with which Shaw plays and plans out a rack is incredible. To do so with the level of finesse he has, I think indicates a special kind of talent. (And yes I understand that everybody on that stage has mega-talent.)
He's definitely one of the top up-and-coming players of this generation.

He's a special talent for sure ,, Kieth McCreedy was of simalier talent rifeled balls in from everywhere many would say the most talented shot maker they ever saw , Shaw is billed as the same talent however it remains to be seen if that transpires into the best player because he like Kieth has his short comings if he grows out of them he could be the top player in the world but he's got a ways to go before that happens

They played a race to 100 at Castle Billiards in NJ about a year and a half ago.
Shane had not dominated the 10ball race to 100 against Shaw. It was about 100:90 or so, but there were a couple of hours when Shaw dominated. apart from Alex beating shane back then in the TAR match, I saw noone coming close to Shane. I remember telling a friend the next day, that with Shaw I saw somone who could actually beat Shane fair and scare in a race to 100.
Nevertheless, I consider Shane the much more rounded player with finesse and tactics, creativity the better mental focus to chose the right shot at the right time. But Shaw is one hell of an offensive player and a joy to watch! It might come down at this open to Shaw and Shane.

Incredible talent. When he catches that gear he is something to behold bit sometimes it leads to overconfidence and his game speeds up, sometimes too fast and that causes the occasional error. He gets that and his temperment under control he could be darn near unbeatable.
I haven't watched this years US-open (but I may buy this DVD from accu-stats). Jayson Shaw is an awesome shooter from what I've seen earlier, maybe the best shotmaker in the game. I still think there is room for improvement in his game overall (position/safety) compared to the very best in those areas. If that happens he may be become the greatest player on Earth. We have a lot to look forward to from this man in the future!

Chezka Centeno is the Jayson Shaw and Earl Strickland of the women players. She plays the same sort of style and has no fear.
I think Shane is "better" at this point in time.
His "overall" skills and knowledge give him the edge, but Shaw can run away with games and packages if you let him loose.
Did anyone catch the Shaw vs Alcaide match that prompted this thread?
I know Jayson had an incredible comeback the night before down 10-4 to Ko and, of course it took some major skill to get that win.
The Shaw/Alcaide match had Jayson make a couple of fantastic jump shots with position causing Mark Wilson to say "I guess we know who to take jump lessons from."
And even better than those I thought were two very long distance safes that were so freaking unbelievable, one Jerry forsyth just couldn't get over and neither could I. From the top rail Jayson had to go about 8 feet off the far left side rail at super slow speed and comeoff to just feather the intended ball then nestle behind another ball better than jail, more like federal penitentiary. :thumbup:
Take that safety play, add the jump shot capabilities and his alarming shotmaking and watch out world!!!

The way Shaw played on day 2 of their 1st race to 100....nobody can beat him.
Well we now get to see the Shaw/Shane match. I was sweating the last match with Cheng,
I now know not to count out Shaw no matter what the score, he came back against Big Ko and almost did
it again vs Cheng.
