I was just reading a thread here in the wanted/for sale forum that was just like 1,000 others I've seen. It started out with a cue for sale.

Then, someone makes a comment questioning the sellers price, something like "well, I'll be surprised if you can get that much, but nice cue....good luck with your sale". The next post goes something like "yeah, seems like an awful lot of them for sale....makes ya wonder". Then another poster comes to the defense of the cue "well, so and so had one on here a couple of weeks ago and his sold for more than this in 20 minutes!"

The next series of posts are a bunch of guys in a pissing match about the faults/virtues of the cue.

The poor seller, who was just trying to offer a cue for an asking price, now has to endure several "forum atrocities" including badmouthing his product in HIS thread!

Guys, in case your upbringing was inadequate, his post was NOT a solicitation for your opinion. If you want people to know your opinion, if you feel you have information any buyer of a "fill in the blank" cue just can't live without...GREAT, start your own thread!!!! Post it right above the seller, call it "FILL IN THE BLANK" cues are made in SWEATSHOPS. Or even start one questioning the integrity of the seller...whatever....it's a forum, express your opinion, express away!....but not in HIS thread.

Of course, you've also succeeded in hijacking his thread, turning it into anything except about the seller's cue.

So, I'm sure a sticky wouldn't help...I'm surprised these people have the brains to BREATH and can still be so ill-mannered.

p.s. I know I misspelled "sticky" in the title, it's an homage to Fatboy.....:)

I for one apoligise :o to every one for my actions in the past, however, I will never involve myself in any of this in future for any reason!!!

Have a good night!!:o

Hell, Vinnie should ask Mr Wilson to lock that thread and start another for sale thread.

hmmmm, I certainly wasn't referring to a specific thread, I don't think Mr. Wilson has a big enough keyring for all the "locks" he would need to lock every thread that looks as I described.

So why am I answering a post in the for sale section, shouldn't this be moved to a not for sale posting section it's eating up valuable sale stuff that is actualy up for auction in the for sale section again.

There should be some new section's made

~for sale~

~for auction~

~best offer~

~for rent~

~below a $1000~

~below $3,000~

~above 3,000~

~ parts ~

~complaints~

~ idea's for the forum~

~bad beat section~

~ and the list goes on starting to look like Craigslist again.

Some are's do need to be addressed or fine tuned

Excellent post, Junksecret. I can not understand why some folks just have to stomp on another person's sale thread. Even if you personally hate the cuemaker, the individual trying to sell the cue does not deserve being dumped on. Just start an "I hate_______ cues" thread.

Agreed, the degredation of other members that takes place on this forum gets "pretty" annoying. No way to stop it. But it sure is disappointing at times.

Between that and the whining after a cue was purchased and one of the tips was 20% shorter than the other, I don't which is worse.
