This is about Shane

(got tired of the BS with the titles)
...
There Europeans have done the most damage on that stage and will continue to do so, shane "as great as he is" is an american bully and for the most part in my book and for the most part just capable of beating up on the american boys.
...

ROFL! Where are you from? You sound like a blatant anti-american hater with that '...an american bully...' line. Stop stereotyping and judge him by who he is (I seriously doubt you know him at all) and not where he's from bro or you're just as bad as the group you're trying to put him in. Also, you realize you're attempting to measure one guys chances vs. an entire continent's stable of players right?

I've already put way to much thought into responding to this drivel. Moving on!!

It all depends on what your personal definition of a "better player" is. Everyone has a different definition on it and to me, these debates are pointless if the term has not been defined. A lot of great players did not win a world title until late into their career, IF they won one.

Anyway, I see that the hopefuls are still hopeful. Well good, and you should be but "I" don't see Shane winning an oversea title EVER. Yea yea yea it could happen and good for him if it does but I don't think it will.
And to those of you who say "oh he'll get it next year, cause he's going to work hard, and blah blah blah" well guess what, so are all those other players.

There Europeans have done the most damage on that stage and will continue to do so, shane "as great as he is" is an american bully and for the most part in my book and for the most part just capable of beating up on the american boys.

"that's my take on it..... do (you know the rest)

Sorry but this post says way more about you than it says about Shane.

Shane finished 5th at the china open and 5th in Qatar. Saying he will never win a world tittle is flat out dumb. These tournaments are so tough to fade, single elim, magic rack, and alternate break. Thorsten didnt even make it to the knock out stage this year after winning it last year. Just goes to show you how tough it really is...for any player.

lukemindish. The below is not necessarily directed at you...I simply hit reply to your post.
You know the SAD part about this thread?
You are all arguing about a U.S. player when most likely most, if not all, of you are from the U.S. yourselves. Embarrassing.
Pool in this country is broken? No.
It's the people playing pool that's broken.
Thank goodness the rest of the world has picked up the baton, otherwise pool would be dead.
SVB represents the U.S. Now please stop making HIM look bad with all your petty and illogical remarks about his game.

Silly troll.

Shane has proven that at his best,he plays at a speed that rivals the best pool any of us have ever seen, running off and leaving people.

The problem is,with the Magic Rack, clean cloth and balls, and a quantum leap in the number of players worldwide that basically do nothing but hit balls and train all day long, that on a given day in tournaments, there are probably 40-50 other guys that can hit that gear in 2-3 hour spurts.

Now add to that the alternate break format, which makes even the tiniest mistakes an almost guaranteed 2 game penalty, and SHIT JUST HAPPENS PEOPLE :(.

I'm with the people that think he will win one or more before he's done.

Do I know why he hasn't won one already? No,but my guess is something others have already mentioned, and that directly relates to travel issues.

For example,he flies to a foreign country, and unless he has a personal assistant to take care of shit like this,he has to decide where and when to eat a couple times a day at least. That alone has to have an effect on some level.

I can't fault anything he's done up until now as far as his preparation, but maybe there is something different he can do like getting there a couple days earlier, etc. Tommy D.

Best post HERE!

Haaaaaaaaaaaa

Can I say this is exactly what I expected, an idiot bunch of Shane groupies, that don't even take the time to read. It is a typical characteristic of people on this forum, I see it all the time and read it all the time.

Saw only one person with the brains for this whole group, sakujack you deserve a pat on the back

The end of your post is kind of ridiculous. None of the other winners recently live in Qatar and so they've traveled there with no assistants. Nor did their jet lag affect them any more or less than Shane. And Shane has been traveling for the past month, including china, just like all the other players. The traveling excuse is now dead.

Of course you think that...jack is the only one that agreed with anything you said. Shane is far from my favorite player by the way, but he is one hell of a player and deserves respect. He will always be in the discussion for best of all time regardless of what haters like you will continue to say.

Last thought...you're characterization of the majority of people on here is silly and misinformed. Get a life and stop trolling for an argument.

Dear defender of the people.
I think that cause he's the only one that took the time to read it looks like and even comprehend what was being said, but hey thank you for reenforcing my characterization theory

20 years from now, nobody will remember who won this tourney but most will still be talking about Shane as one of the greatest players ever.

By his 2 Fifth place finishes in the last 2 Intnl Events and his fifth place WORLD ranking and moving up, plus his past history, he has proven he is one of the best players in the world.

But unless he gets that WPC and one other international title at least (The All Japan in Nov would be nice) all the talk will be in America only. Currently the USA is but a small blip of the World Pool scene-by 2035, even less i imagine.

It's incredible how stupid people are drawn into pool. How some of these people manage to make it through daily life without tripping over their own stupidity simply amazes me.

I know right, you would think knees would be all scuffed by now.

I bet 7 voted and would still vote for Obama. He obviously has no great knowledge of pool.

This by far is the best comment in this thread! I'll add to this, I bet 7 doesn't even know what a dictator is;)

I'll help you 7,,, a dictator(wannabe dictator) is our president;) there is your history lesson for the day:) I did my good deed for the day:)

This is exactly what I expected. Shane not taking first in the World Championship and then someone coming on the forum saying how Shane will never win on foreign soil. Same shit, different year.

The problem is not Shane but the shitty ball bangers that post on this forum. You can not sharpen steel with crap, You need to raise your game so Shane can raise his game.

Shane beats up on the people that are winning these "International" events when he plays them here...

Plus all these people that win the majority of these events get their seasoning and some even moved to LIVE in the US, so the fact that Shane dominates here is more than just piss in the wind.

on the filipino side, if you will ask them... its big tournaments that always gives them the most pressure. they want to leave a legacy behind. you can always hear efren, or other players, that they are shaking/nervous when they're almost near the championship. they give importance to tournaments.

I will gladly play any of the Shane haters that have posted in this thread...

I hope that isn't directed at me, because I will gladly play ANY of the Shane haters that have posted in this forum.

I give respect where it's due and I only chime in when people try to claim that Shane isn't one of, if not THE, best player in the world.

Show me the pool leader boards money rankings and tournament win rankings and I'll show you Shane at the top.

It's like saying that Efren isn't still one of the best players around.

Have a tournament with $100K plus first place and watch Efren come out of the woodwork to win it.

Almost every time big money gets involved, Efren wins.

Any time a long race is involved, Shane is the favorite.

He places fifth in two international events back to back people start mouthing off how he's not that good, when if you look at the formats of those tourneys, it's setup so any high caliber player can win, not so that the best player will win.

That's what I get tired of.

So, if you, or any of the other Shane haters would like to play me, I'm game.
We'll see who the banger is...
