This is one LAME e-bay fraud auction

It is the original Palmer case that the cue and shafts came in. It also is in pristine condition. I would sell the whole setup for $3200. One of the nicest custom Palmers I have ever seen from that era.

Well Done Tate!

We all need all the help we can get to contain scamming on Fleabay.

Still running. Ebay doesnt much care or have the resources to really check validity. Good about a lot of things, but they cant check it all.

Usually they are pretty good about this. Maybe they doubt the validity of my claim, although I did cross reference the copy-cat auction number to them.

I complained to them once again and this time I flat told them they would lose all their buyers in the cue department if they continued to allow this stuff. I have considered circulating an on-line petition here to request that they verify identities with valid credit card information before allowing people to sell, or require them to have an active Paypal account. This one move will get rid of 90% of the BS auctions.

Chris, I hate to sound negative, but ebay probably isn't too happy with the way cue-sellers abuse them - they use ebay to advertise, then end their auctions without paying seller fees. It is so blatant that most sellers even put text in their auctions that they will end the auction early for the right price. I think ebay figures, to heck with the cue sellers - all we're getting is the listing fee anyway. I hear all kinds of excuses from very honest sellers as to why they do this, but the bottom line is that they aren't playing by the rules.

I contacted top bidder. He told me the guy tried to
get him to buy it now. Apparently I was the 1st person
to notify him. He said he was getting very uneasy about the auction.

Hey Hondo,

Good work. Believe it or not, I tried to contact another bidder and the E-Bay system wouldn't let me! Can you believe this BS?

Oops, looks like a vigilante struck.

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to Image and Text Theft.

I have reviewed the information that you provided regarding image and
text theft, but at this point find that I do not have enough evidence to
show that the member has violated any eBay rules.

Unfortunately, we will only be able to take action if the owner of the
image or text writes to us. In some instances, certain members will
allow others to use their images. It is also possible that they acquired
the image from a mutual source. Therefore, we often cannot remove
listings based on the representations of third parties whose credentials
we cannot verify.

We do understand the potential for further issues in this type of
situation. That is why, if you feel strongly about this issue, we
recommend you contact the seller(s) to advise them of the information
and recommend they contact us directly. Once we hear from them, we will
take appropriate action.

It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing eBay.

Sincerely,
Shamira

What a crock of horse crap for a response. Customer service is probably outsourced overseas even. Someone said it best....they just don't care because they have gotten too fat off their listing fees....even with the shady selling tactics that many people who sell cues use. There's little incentive for eBay to fully investigate claims like this. I don't like it myself, but how can you blame them? They'll keep dancing around the class action suites while the coffers keep getting full. :(

One down and a new one to replace it:

Maybe "Zorro" will strike down this scam auction, too??? :D

I can't believe they finally removed that original auction! Yee - haw.

ChrisOnLine was absolutely correct - they must have outsourced their customer service to Pakistan and are trying to train people.

I am serious about starting a petition about verified indentities. It's absurd that anyone can sign up and bid with 100% phoney information and a yahoo e-mail account.

Maybe we need a stickey just on lame e-bay copycapt auctions. If you see a high bidder "copycatcueauction" don't bid against him, he has unlimited funds available!

The cue is close to me.. I'm going to email them to see if they will meet me to look at the cue.

They won't. The cue was sold a few months ago on E-Bay. I also know who the original seller was, as we discussed the cue before it was sold. I do not know who owns it now, but the ad was copied verbatim and they used the same photos.

The new one is a private listing! Can't warn no one

E-bay is so nice and accommodating to scam artists. FYI I'm the high bidder at the moment until the auction is cancelled.
