I think it takes a lot of mental toughness to hold up when a guy like JA is sitting in the other chair so she should be proud of the win. She just joined a group a lot of us are not in. Lets not start all this she can't beat him on a 9 foot of in a race to 12 or whatever. She played a good match and she took down a monster, let her have it, she did good.

Congratulations Helena, beating Archer is a great feat no matter who you are. Not too many players have beaten Archer,and only a very few have beaten him 11 to 5. You must of played lights out and i'm proud of you,incidentally your a pretty nice person to

For all of you who are getting your panties in a wad, Helena shot lights out to win that match. I was playing my match on the next table over and she just was shooting great pool, the kind you would expect to see from Shane, Cory, or any other of the top male pros. And for those of you who blame the equipment, they were playing on the same table, so Johnny had the chance to do the same. It just boils down to the fact that she just plain outshot JA, plain and simple. Congrats Helena.
2 pool players that are pro don't matter what conditions of the table or size of the table they are playing with...be the best pro win and HT came up on top and please be happy for her ...and for JA he didn't play well wish him luck on the B side

Archer's fate was sealed when he ran into Van Boening on the B-side. he lost 11-5. Helena had a tough run-in with Sparky Ferrell the following round and lost 11-6, her next opponent will be none other than Monica Webb. Van Boening will play Stevie Moore next.
play in the main event will continue tomorrow at 1 pm with the winners side of the chart - good match-ups. Rafael Martinex will play Cliff Joyner; Larry Nevel will take on Jessie Middlebrooks (he sent SVB over today); etc. etc. not to mention the ten-ball ring game tomorrow night should add a few railbirds to the room - there are still spots open for the ring game - they are opening it up to sixteen players and currently have Shane Van Boening, Johnny Archer, Shannon Daulton, Bobby Pickle, Billy Young, Stevie Moore, Larry Nevel, Gabe Owen, Jonathan Hennessee, and Billy Bailey signed up.

This doesn't surprise me one bit. She has been a top player for the past decade, at least. Someday soon a female is going to snap off a big tournment and there will still be those that will chalk it up to luck, or easy equipment. The tables in these tournaments are not easy, even if it was a 7-footer. Show some respect. Helena and all the ladies deserve it.

Would I have bet Helena would beat Johnny? Nope. Circumstances would have to be right. Apparently they were. Hell, I can beat Archer if the circumstances were right. I'd have to be playing my best, and he'd have to have missed the match by oversleeping. In Helena's case, she plays at a high enough speed that she's going to get him once in a while.

Just saying two pros is kind of a joke, you make out like it wasn't a big upset, being a pro on the WPBA doesn't mean you play that great, the level of play especially after the top 20 is not near like playing in mens tournaments regularly. Having said that, she must have played great to win, give her some credit for the victory, just recognize that yes it was a big upset!
