I'm usually a little shy when it comes to posting on forums. I know whatever I say, someone will jump on me. Plus AZ has enough experts already anyway ;)

But its great to see, that I have some friends out there ! Thanks !

-People, play more straight pool-

Thorsten
Sad but true. At least you know coming into it... most players know this and choose not to post because of it. I talked to three at Valley Forge that read this forum all the time but won't post because of the idiot trolls that have to rear their ugly heads. :( Welcome to the mad house.

He is just a little shy about talking with people. He's a great guy and holds interesting conversations. I introduced him to my husband Tim Higgins who in the early 90's on the PBT was called The Hitman. We all laughed about it and thought it was kind of cool that both TH's had the same nickname. Tim, due to his work schedule doesn't get out and play but we are hoping to drag him out one day for a game or two.

Thorsten Hohmann (The Hitman)
Tim Higgins (The Hitman)
Thomas Hearns (The Hitman)

All TH's and all The Hitman, coincidence...I think not :)

Maybe an asian gave him the nickname. :D :D

LOL, I couldn't resist...

Ok people, don't burn me at the stake for this... it was a clean joke, made in good humor... I'm not racist and I have plenty of asian friends. ;)

thats racial profiling, prepare to goto court. no im not kidding.;)

thorsten joined, welcome aboard.

{best interview voice} How did you get the nickname "The Hitman?"

According to sources there are several known "hitmen" within the billiard community. Is there a special group that exists within the billiard world?
A group confirmed by other players with equally violent nicknames. Does the billiard underground still exist?

{best interview voice} Oddly enough, one of the biggest guys on tour is not in this group. It seems that "love sponge" was not considered to be violent enough to join this elite group. :p

Thorston;
Welcome to AZ. I was one of die hard straight pool enthusiasts that witnessed your amazing 174 ball run in New Jersey earlier this month. I saw a great deal of your other matches and was amazed at the level of focus displayed during those matches.

Nick

If you should happen to go to the Derby City Classic next year, azbilliards members have a separate room with a pool table to meet and play each other. I'm sure you would be more than welcome to come in and hang out.

If you get some time and don't mind sharing, maybe you can give us some info on how you learned 14.1, what european instructional materials you like, your mental approach to pool. For example, someone mentioned you like to hit the 14.1 break shot pretty hard and scatter the balls as opposed to guys like Rempe who are more conservative and softly break, and then pick off a few balls and then re-break the stack a little more later.

Thanks and good luck in Vegas.

Thorsten I know you are a shy guy but seriously anyone who can run 174 balls in straight pool, win the world 9 ball championship and numerous other titles is a legend in my book cos I can't even run 1 rack of 9 ball HELP!.

P.S

Thanx for the PM its always great to meet a hero. :)

Welcome to AZBilliards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I am going to have to get back up to Amsterdam again! Used to play in one of their in house leagues years ago, before I got married, just can't seem to find enough time any more. As far as the negative comments from the idiots on here, you obviously know more that they ever will, and have probably forgotten more that they ever learned! Keep up the good work and great success in the IPT!!!

Thorsten-

Glad to have you here. I was at the 14.1 tournament earlier this month as were many other posters here. Sadly I didn't see your 174-and-out against Schmidt, but I DID see you dog a few balls against Eberle once the shot clock was in effect. Don't worry though, I think you're one of the best out there. Good to have you and your scary picture on the board.

Now would be a good time to remind you of the pics from Cambridge last yr. They're readily available and can be posted again AND used as avatars.

Anymore questions you'd like to ask?

;)
