Thoughts On Grady mathews

I enjoy Grady's commentarys on the straight pool tapes I have. I also greatly enjoy all and anything Danny DlLiberto has to say. Bill Incardona? He was mentioned on this thread, I think he is quite a character but also enjoyable to listen to.

Thanks to all for great commentary and insight.

Dear Grady, I wrote but you still ain't callin
I left my cell, my pager, and my home phone at the bottom
I sent two letters back in autumn, you must not-a got 'em
There probably was a problem at the post office or somethin
Sometimes I scribble addresses too sloppy when I jot 'em......

Dear Grady, you still ain't called or wrote, I hope you have a chance
I ain't mad - I just think it's ****ED UP you don't answer fans

This is Grady's wife, Randi. I will answer this one since I am the one who handles Grady's mail. No mail that I know of has been received from you. Did you place an order, or ask a question? Those are handled right away. Once in a great while he gets something that simply makes no sense and then there are a few that are comments that don't require an answer...even most of those get a thank you. Grady doesn't return calls simply because the mail contains a phone number. And on that note, know that Grady really dislikes talking on the phone. Call me and I'll talk forever but he can't be still long enough for chit-chat. You may call me anytime and if you have something to tell Grady, rest assurred that he gets the message. Even better, email him (grady101@sc.rr.com) since he reads those every day unless he's on the road and sometimes he even sees them then or I call him and read them to him.
So you see, we really don't ignore anybody....well, Smorg, but that's another story. :-)

HAHA that's the funniest quote of the year. That really fits this whole thread! For the geezers in here who don't listen to rap, that's Eminem's "Stan" about a delirious fan who kept trying to be Eminem's friend and never received a letter back. He went off the deep-end and threw his pregnant girlfriend in the trunk of a car and ran the car off a bridge--- just to "ram" it to Eminem, and to teach him a lesson to write his fans back. I THINK that was actually a true story? I don't know how to rep point people, but that was funny:)

NOTE**** RANDI: That was NOT a legit post. He was poking fun of the guy who started this thread. That poem was from a rap song, not legit!

And we're suppose to know about rap? Grady listens to Hank Williams, Sr. Glad you found it funny.

You know how much HEART Grady has?

Back around 98 I was at a tournament at JOB's and I was playing $5 one pocket with a hillbilly dressed in honest to goodness overalls. NO ONE wanted a part of the hillbilly. But him and Grady were barking at each other while we were playing and Grady BET $50 a game on me. After I lost 3 games Grady pulled up and came over to yell at me for playing the wrong shots. I said, Grady I told you I don't know how to play one pocket and he said something like well I didn't you couldn't spell it either.

He is just like that - bets it up when he has it - all heart all the time.

Now that is FUNNY.

Grady, no one is supposed to know... which is why i had to clarify for Randi's benefit. That guy was actually supporting you and making fun of the original post.

We listen to all kinds of music around my place . . .

Country, Western, and ol' time Rock and Roll. If it ain't in that list it ain't music! I built a new cue shop recently. The neighbors got to learn a lot of Hank and Waylon and Merle songs with some Marty Robbins, Tom T, and George thrown in at no extra charge. :D

Other Than Grady

I would like to say that I use to be a big Grady Mathews Fan. I have followed him for years, and attended several of his road tours including the first, In which I was 13 years old in my hometown of Asheville, NC. I learned so much from him at a young age, Just by listening and watching him teach us and play (Of course, His stories as well!). That has lingered with me for years as well as the game of pool itself and the journey to playing to one's satisfaction! I met Grady, Again at the Derby City Classic in 2007 and spoke to him briefly. his wife was much nicer to me than himself. I told her, I would love to book some private lessons (since I am close by in NC). I told her I would love to bring a cam corder and really get serious with lessons with Grady. she told me to just talk to him. When I approached him about everything, he wouldn't even hold a conversation with me! he would not even answer my E Mails after the event when I was interested in purchasing his DVDS!( I have seen Grady's Commentarys with Bill "Pittsburg Billy" Incardona, as Grady always talks about aspiring pool players and wanting to pass his knowledge to them, This is untrue from what I've experienced! maybe Grady should get off of his "High Rockin"Horse Ego" and practice what he preaches! Why do you fight with Mr. Incardona on Accu Stats Videos Grady? Are you intimidated by him? I have met Billy Incardona and he has treated me with more respect than you ever gave me! Anyways, I told Grady, he was an inspiration to me and he quickly "Blew Me Off" as even I asked if he remembered me or the pool room in Asheville, NC, That I grew up in as a "Rack Boy" (with other duties that I had including Brushing and vaccuming tables, cleaning bathrooms, washing windows, fetching packs of cigarettes, food, Etc,). This pool room was full of A+ Players "Back in the Day" and there was always "Big Time Action" (Ask Grady, He Knows the owner, Barry Watson who I have a lot of respect for. He gave me "Pool Knowledge" and "Pool Time" in return for my dirty tasks! A young kid growing up in the 80"s. I have seen more one pocket and 9 ball action that most kids or adults would ever beleive the stories or memories that I have! Mike sigel, Earl strickand, Efren Reyes, Keith Mcready, Jimmy Mataya, Louie Roberts, Nick Varner, Wade Crane, Jim Rempe, David Howard, "The Miz", The list goes on, as I have seen them all play in their prime were true professionals to me. I am very dissapointed Grady! We are all human! Leave your ego to feed to your dog while running or for your wife to re assure your confidence! I am not trying to be mean, but I have lost a lot of respect! Sorry Grady!

ANY PARTICULAR REASON YOU USED A SMALL LETTER FOR THE hook and wacko? CAP WASN'T BUSTED ( Sorry Grady)
