I am used to predator 314 2nd gen and the stiff hit of it. My recent player just warped and I am looking to buy a cheaper used LD shaft, Anyone have an idea of how the Tiger X hits compared to the 314 2? Is it stiffer or more flexible in comparison?

there's a couple versions of the x shaft....the ultra and then the LD versions, the ultra LD and the pro. looking at the 12.75mm pro tapered ones (ultra and ultra LD)....the taper is similar to the 314-2. has a much harder hit, due primarily to the ferrule (saber-T). the ultra is not low deflection, and unfortunately I was disappointed with the ld performance of the ultra-ld. it's lower than the regular ultra, but only modestly. nowhere close to a predator. both hit pretty similarly, the regular ultra feels slightly more solid. if you like regular shafts, they're really nice....but if ld is what you are looking for, move on.
the pro though did have good ld performance, in the class of a pred. but it's got the small tip and euro taper, which i don't like as much.

Interesting. Most people on this site that critique the 314's describe the hit as too "mushy" for their liking. I have always thought my 314's felt like about a medium hit (I use Triangle tips),
I haven't tried a Tiger shaft of any model, so I can't help you there.

I had a tiger ultra x. I thought it was a stiff hit, played very similar to a regular maple. I think the 314 doesn't really have a stiff hit. The one I had seemed softer (as compared to a regular maple).
Of all the LD shafts I have tried, I like the Mezz WD700. It was very low deflection but felt very solid like a regular shaft. The one I would like to try is an OB Classic.
I play with and prefer good old standard maple shafts, for the record.

I bought a Tiger Ultra X for a Lucasi cue, and it felt loose when I struck the ball far off center. Sorta whippy, like a saw blade 'pings' sorta. That feel, obviously not that sound, lol.
Bought a 314-2 and like it alot. Doesnt feel like the Tiger Ultra X does, and I'm way more fond of the 314-2.
I don't know what Tiger has done since the Ultra X came out, might have gotten better, but I just didnt like the hit.

I think you and brandon (above) are talking about the older, yet still in production "Ultra-X."
The new ones are the Ultra-X "LD, and the Tiger X-Pro.
I say they are stiff because its the only LD shaft I have shot with in comparison to a regular maple shaft. I can not shoot with a regular maple shaft anymore because of the deflection and having to overcompensate all the side spin english without the LD. I am just trying to figure out if I get a Tiger will it be a big adjustment.
I would say it falls in between a regular shaft and the 314. Cannot speak to the ld tiger, never played with one.

I think 314's are mushy because of the stock everest tip. I like the feel of triangles on Preds, but can't get the action on whitey. Recently switched to a kamui black medium, and have to say it's the best value for money I've ever spent on pool equipment.
I shoot with the Ultra X LD and love it. It has a solid feel and a great hit IMO. I have had some Predator users try it out and say it has more deflection than the 314's? It's probably in the middle somewhere I would guess. I'm personally sold on the Tiger product after shooting with their shafts now for a couple of years.
**I wish Tiger would promote the shafts more. The name recognition isn't there like PREDATOR and that really hurts them in the market share.
