Three Whines Regarding The Wanted/For Sale Forum . . .

Also not to be confused with a Tapir Roll. Those little guys like to roll in the mud just like their distant cousins.

Okay, here's mine

1) The for sale/wanted section has gotten 'trivial' lately, selling all kinds of junk that is NOT cues and/or cases. It is disheartening to go there, and not find but a cue or two listed.

2) I am so sick of ebony cues, I could puke!!!! Very few are pretty, and that is because of the inlays in them. Black is black, it is a non color ...
In case you're wondering, I like 'Southwestern' styled cues (like Arizona or New Mexico). I love beautiful grained woods.

3) Sick of the 'feeler' ads. It is against policy, and they should be removed as soon as one pops up. Put a damn price on it!!! What are you doing, hoping to get an offer more than what it is worth ...

4) A plain Jane is only worth $700 maximum, I don't care who made it.

I could rant some more, but I'll let it go for now ...

1. If you are on the 9th page of bumping your thread, you probably have your shit priced too high. Get a clue!

2. There has been a tremendous increase over the last few months where sellers do not include a price with the cues they are selling - they either want you to send them offers or in some instances, they request that you pm them for the price. I'm not just talking Szambotis and Bushkas where sellers may wish to protect potential buyers on a true investment, this is happening with Predators, Schons, McDermotts, Pechauers, etc., etc., etc.

If you want people to send you competing offers, maybe you should put it on eBay.

I won't open any thread that has the word "feeler" in the title. If you want to establish what a cue is worth or if there is interest (that's what feeler means, right?), post a description along with good pics right here on the Main Forum where lots of the same knowledgable people can be found (so you don't disrupt commerce on W/FS) who can help you establish the value of your cue. **THEN**, if you wish to proceed, post it over on wanted/for sale with what you have just established is the right price.

3. Scary Feet & Bad Bedding: Unless you are actually including in the deal, either your crazy-assed, hobbit-like feet or what appears to be bedding straight from a meth-lab hotel room, then keep them out of the photos! Have mercy!

Isn't it ironic how you would think with all of that extra meth-induced energy, they would find the time to launder their bedding once every few months or so, but they don't?

Don't get me wrong, some of the best cue deals you can make are with meth heads, you know, when they aren't trying to plunge a butcher knife into your chest.

Thanks for letting me rant. I feel better now.

best,
brian kc

If this is all you have to be unhappy about, I envy your life.

Sick of the 'feeler' ads.

I'll go with ya on that one too.

Just the wording is so old that it makes you wanna click off the thread.

Just a Feeler to see if there are any suckers out there that will pay more than the cue is worth or more than I paid for it.
Don't want to put a definite price on it in case I can jizz someone for an extra 20 bucks.

Put a price on it. If it is a decent cue, people will be interested in it. If it is a piece of crap, chances are making people PM you for a price or an offer isn't going to get you any better a price.

I don't have the inclination to send out PMs asking questions. If the price and relevant info is included in the thread, then people can say, yes I am interested or no, I am not.

Save the BS for the suckers.

As usual, Brian, your threads are direct, and to the point. Those metaphors that sellers sometimes use are a complete waste.
It's like bare tits on my back. They just turn my stomach. :)

Because if it has a Drastic Taper Roll, it is warped.
So, it is only slightly warped, or slightly not straight.

But serious. A slight roll isn't going to affect the playability of the shaft as long as the tip stays on the table.
A slight roll isn't a bad warp, I guess. If it wasn't disclosed by the seller, than the buyer would be some pissed when he got the cue.

Half (12/25) of the current 1st page listings are from the same seller... that gets to be annoying.

Ha, I was just writing out a question to send to whomever hoping we can limit to 5 unlocked Wanted/Sale posts per user. Learn the fine art of selling 15 cues in one post, or on your own website. 15 posts all bumped at the same time are just ridiculous.

The average person using the forum has 1 post. Some dealers have a handful, very few have 15+ and are ruining the forums for everyone. Posts can be locked/deleted after the item is sold. Easy.

But wait, now it's 13 out of 25 of the current 1st page listings are from the same seller... I think he's going for 25/25.

I think he's going for 25/25.

That would not surprise me, apparently within the rules, so back to my free Ebay comments...and back to the ghetto for the poor guy with one cue for sale, and one bump bullet every 48-hours
