tiger emerald tips

No problems here. Maybe your putting too much stress during install and they are delamintaing. Try wetting the leather before cutting and using a very sharp utility blade.
 
I have put a few on and have not had the problem you speak of. But they do seem softer than the hardness rating states from a playbility aspect. I still like the Sniper the best of the Tiger tips.

Never saw that happen.
I am a Tiger reseller and I have installed over 15-20 emerald tips and never had one come off.
Are you installing one with a lathe or by hand?
The glue side of the tip is where it is engraved, not the other side.
When you face off the ferrule, and in layered tips I always clean it with a small piece of paper towel with acetone, that dries the ferrule better and cleans any type of grease the ferrule might release since some ferrules are bit more oily than others and never had an issue with a layered tip coming off the ferrule.
 
I got a box of Emeralds recently and put one on my Joss shaft.
Me likes it just fine.
I wet all my tips and use a blade for only 2 installs.

Try those Olfa HB blades. They are a HUGE snap off type utility blade...sharpest I've ever seen. I use an entire section...gives something to hold onto when trimming/crowning.:wink:

Exactly - I'm on my third or fourth box of those tips and never had a problem. They seem very good for the price, also!

probably just like the tiger sniper tips which i have 1 on my lucasi feels lifeless :( oh well im just getting the emerald b/c i need a new tip and ferrule and although i do not like tiger tips i do like their ferrules so for $40 im getting a new tip and ferrule.

I, myself, really like Snipers but can't stand the hit of a Lucasi. Just goes to show that peoples tastes really differ.
