Tim Scruggs Comeback

My personal thanks to Tony Z
your initial response made on the assuption that Tim needed some convincing
is not far off the mark,Tim wants to come back to his love of cue making. but the
challenges are so great that, like a lot of us at this age, his mind is not easily made up

one thing is for sure..there are a lot of people out here who love Tim Scruggs and want the best for him.
While at the same time we all want one of his unique masterpieces

I wish Tim only the best in whatever does. He and Mike were always there for me for 30+ years and i appreciate all they did for me and wish Tim a healthy and happy retirement and a happy Holiday season. I miss tim, Mike and John especilly the Saturday morning social gathering and going to breakfast. Not to mention the huge crabcake sandwiches that Tim would have at the shop before Christmas. Sorry, i am starting to tear up. Enjoy a peaceful retirement Tim.

Not sure if the "John" you are referring to is my Dad, Jon Nusbaum, but he spent almost every Saturday morning for at least the last 10 years with Mike and Tim. He would also swing by Bob Freys place too. From what he told me, Tim could never have made cues without Mike. Without an amazing helper, I dont see him coming back either. Hope he is doing well though.

Yes it was J.P. but i think Tim is quite capable of making great playing cues in his own right.

Tim made cues and is certainly capable having taught Mike, perhaps Mikes talents caught or
even surpassed the master. No one knows but one thing is for sure Tim was involved in every
step along the way and will never put out a product that would not be up to his standards,
which by the way have never been surpassed and seldom equaled.

I am hoping Tim comes back so I can enjoy his triumph and the pride of owning the 5 cues
I am ordering. If you want to point at a pure chump, point at me.I let every one of my cues
get away from me,I have no Scruggs and only memories of Cochran

If Tim comes back I guarantee I am never going to let it go.
(My wife has just pointed out that I have said this before),,,oops

Very wise choice there Dean!! I have 2 Cochrans and 1 Scruggs cue. I have had several offers on all 3, but there is noway in hell that I would ever get rid of these cues.

Ts/Mc

I agree, i started to panic and sell my Cochran cause i needed the cash,(what a mistake). I thought no way in hell so i pulled it for sale on that reason alone, so then i aquired a fancy scruggs. I have one cochran and one scruggs, no way will i ever sell them. Still looking for atleast one more fancy Scruggs cue

Tim is not sitting idle on the question,he is weighing his options and considering many offers of cuemakers who would like to be part
Tim also has some health issues that he hopes to correct,I hope to hear from him after the holidays

I talk to Timi alot.

I think if he wanted he could make two or three cues a year. They would be very big cues. Over 20K each. Right now he is leaning toward not.
Nick :)

<<<<<<<--------------------You don't need one of these to talk to Timi! :D

I had a Scruggs custom. I traded it to Sev, I have regreted that since.....:o

I'd love to have another.......... The best to Tim no matter what he decides.........:)

Tim is seriously considering coming back

I talked with him yesterday and suggested that he make a commitment to the first and last or only 100 scruggs sneaky petes just to get started and he was open to the idea
i don't need to tell you about the legendary hit,or what an opportunity this would be

thanks

If Tim opens shop i will bring him and John a nice breakfast sandwich and a coffee or one of those BIG crab cakes. I don't need a cue, just would like to see him happy at what he loves doing. Happy Holidays!
