I am trying to compile a list of all of the tips and ferrule materials on the market. I hope to get everything in-house for some testing. Here's what I have so far and are pretty much what I have in-house now. Feel free to add to the list. Just put an * by anything you add so I can easily see it. Thanks.

The X-Breaker cues had some kind of hard tip that wasn't phenolic, but I can't remember what it's called.

Ryan, Billiards 911 on the net sells a specialy made tip that they make according to the Blue Book Of Cues called the Apache Tip. I don't know is it is layered of not. In the blue Book the cue maker who makes them is Todd Custom Cues.
 
i hear both the Flying Pig and the Blackjack are good layered tips and i also have some new yellow micarta ferrules.i have go to where i put them on everything,they play so good.
 
Ferrules - water buffalo horn
Tips - Wizard (laminated - better than Kamui or Moori for the $), 5th Avenue (laminated - hard!)
 
just made some of the old micarta ferrules -from Rundy's supply,more valuable than ivory are his exact words. Antique French Champions, matching pad less French champs, Doc's Diamonds-break or jump tip. Lepro Selects 15mm, 2 other paded french champions,and pad less french champions. Talisman bk-H, and X, tips,old jim Mcdermott tips, Richard Black tips. english tips - 4 kinds, as old as the Antique french champs. Ageis II, Martinez ferrules. I'm testing many out on old b-model mcdermott shafts,different lengths, and millimeters. plus a box of the Chadverts,lepro's bullafo,french champs,triumpth,rockys- I looked at moose ferrules ,walruss ferrules,ivory-buckhorn- today trying to check out somemore hits,and feels of tips and ferrules. wood has me curious as well-ebony with grain in the right direction, closed grain . my dime mark
 
I want to focus on tips and materials that have a steady supply and are actually on the market. Maybe some you would like to see offered from a trusted source.

Propietary tips probably won't work because I don't think I can buy them for install.

I'd like more info on the Wizard and 5th avenue tips, along with the new micarta ferrules. PM me.
