Tired of getting jerked around on AZ Wanted/For Sale

Why is Tim Scruggs held in such high regard if he lets a piece of sloppy work like that get out? I'd rather have an old Meucci. I've dealt 40-50 old Meuccis in the last two years and the points and veneers are always sharp and even.

With all due respect to those who responded, I do know that even Gus and George may have had some of their points/veneers end up not being perfect. No disagreements on this. However, I want you all to know that I have 3 other TS pointed cues here, aside from this newest one, and all points AND veneers on these are dead even inside and outside. Typically, TS point work is superb. And this isn't even the issue.

The issue here is that this TS was described as having even points but they didn't look anything like the three I have here which do have extremely even points.

If you look at the picture that I provided at the bottom of my orig post, not only will you see one ebony point is shorter than the other by close to 1/2", but if you look closely you will also see the veneered points in the picture are off slightly. Maybe a little less than 1/8".

Just to recap the important point (no pun intended), accuracy in describing what you are selling is important.

That's all.

Best,

The original post is well written, and it's a nice sentiment... people should be straight with each other in business dealings. Chicken sounds like a good guy who is very careful to treat people right.

On the other hand (and feel free to tell me to go to hell) I am perplexed as to why someone gives a shit about a point being a half inch off. If the cue's a player and not hanging on a wall, who's going to notice and why should anyone care?

Creedo;

If you read my orig post I did state that a point problem on this particular cue didn't really make much difference to me since it was intended to be my player BUT, this fact doesn't forgive not describing the cue accurately. And if I were interested in it for collectability or poss resale, poor point work could definitely impact the value.

The wobbly shaft was what prompted my whining, btw.

good people do bad things in troubled times.....

Eric...if you are referring to me...that is a stupid thing to say..and you don't know what your talking about! If you notice...I didn't sell anything to Brian...I sold this cue for a friend and sold it to VonRhett. Von was happy with the cue and gave me positive iTrader feedback. If someone buys a cue from ME and isn't happy for any reason...I always refund there money. That cue was straight when I had it and played exceptional imo...

Now Brian...you bought a "hair on" Instroke case from me and you weren't happy. You contacted me and told me what the problem was and I sent you a full refund including your shipping...so what else do you want? You have a very nice Scruggs and your obviously happy with it or you wouldn't be keeping it...

I just got your PM late Thursday and sent it on to VonRhett...you should be dealing with him anyways...instead of trying to bash me...

You're right, Jeremy. As you suggested in your pm late last night, you didn't sell the cue to me so I can stick it up my a$$.

And as I responded to you, the cue is absolutely a nice one and plays like a TS should, just, misdecribed a little, that's all.

And yes, I remember the hair-on case that you graciously took back; why was that again? Oh yeah, it had two areas of damage to the fur that, when I sent you pictures of it, you said you couldn't believe you missed those.

I've said it now four times, and this will make five: You didn't sell me this TS cue so, of course, you owed me nothing, not even your explanation. J

Please think about the value of being accurate in describing your items for sale.

I've had the opposite experience. I bought a cue on ebay which was warped, the wrap was loose and the but spun 360 degrees. The seller claimed it rolled straight and was in great shape. I use it for a bridge.

I bought the best shaft I've ever had from koinnkid on the wanted/for sale form here.

The only ways to buy

The only ways to buy for items over $200.
-Use escrow
-Pay with Paypal
-Use a credit card

If buying an item with known damage, have the item sent for inspection, then pay the seller. Sellers of items that have known damage will do this as their pool of buyers is smaller.

I've had a few deals here where items were not even close to "as described". Like a shaft that was reportedly a 314 and it arrives as a one piece maple shaft??

Find a respected person to handle escrow, it's worth their fees in gold.

Here's an example: Last week I buy a McDaniel cue and ask specifically in writing and on the phone if the silver ring near the butt is raised. Response- you can barely feel it, and it's not through the finish. It arrives with cracked finish around the circumference of the ring, not acceptable and a $150 repair. I contact the seller and tell him send me $100 towards the repair or take it back. He calls my bluff. Paypal dispute filed, now he plays fair. I bring the cue to my cuemaker and he supports that it is not right, $100 recieved, repair being done.

As Reagan used to say folks, "Trust, but verify".
