You might want to check with MR HOPPE on here. I think the green label is from the 70's. Form my experience the veneers will not improve when you convert it.

Need better pics of the labels and signatures to date them. The older cues had veneers that used water based dye rather than alcohol, and fade over the years. Many people mistake ash for oak in these cues. Need better pics of the grain to confirm. Whether you "got ripped off" or not depends on what you paid.

The cue with the label is from the 40s, which was the beginning for the Titlist cues. A good pic of the signature would determine whether it is one of the earliest or not. IMO, the other cue looks to be ash from what I can see. For $75 each, you stole these cues sir. Please report yourself to the cue police immediately.

whats the best way to get the vaneers to show up during conversion ...is there some special finish to put on or something

You really need to take a cut on them first. Some times the veneers are still bright under the surface, some times they are not. If you want us to take a look at it, contact us at Esoteric Cues. We make cues out of Palatine.

You took my line before I could write it...

It's been my experience the older veneers never turn out bright because
they were never bright in the first place.
Would you agree?

I also feel the older cues with the faint colors are, in general, better than
the bright, shiny ones, but that may just be me.

I like the older ones also, as long as nothing has seperated. I especially dont like those early 70s Adam veneers.
Why does nobody on here say thank you when their questions have been answered?

I have probably had 10 titlist cues converted.

THE VENEERS HAVE ALWAYS SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED.

Your mileage may vary.
