Hey everyone,

I think I'm falling in love with some of the gorgeous titlist conversion cues I've seen posted around here. I would love to see a post dedicated only to titlist coversion cues and their proud owners/admirers ;) So, if any of you are willing to post your titlists or any you have found on other websites and such, that'd be wonderful.

Thanks everyone

My Titlist

I would like to share pictures of my titlist with a brief story behind it as well.

When I signed up for AZ way back when, I had the pleasure of emailing back and forth with a gentleman by the name of Sherwin Chang. He had a really nice 1997 Schick titlist for sale at the time. I was considering the purchase of the cue, but it was honestly out of my price range. He insisted on sending it to me to let me hit a ball with it and see what I thought of the cue. I fell in love immediately...amazing how solid a feel and just overall a wonderful cue. I sent it back to him and was really impressed and how well that cue was made, it being a Schick.

Later on a gentleman on AZ asked if given the choice between three cuemakers he listed, who would he choose to buy a cue from and why. I just gave my honest opinion, feeling the Schick cue was the better value price wise and long term investment wise.

Little did I know that Mr. Schick was reading my post...and contacted me directly to simply say thanks. We corresponded a few times...and the rest as they say is history. I now consider Mr. Schick a friend of mine and helps to remind me of my grass roots back in the Mississippi/Louisiana area. We exchange emails often, but rarely about pool or cues...mostly about fishing and eating...two subjects we both seem to enjoy a lot.

Anyway, I degress...here is my favorite cue by far of any I have ever own, or will ever own.

Weight 18.5 ounces
60" cue length, even 30/30 split
12.75mm shaft x 2, ivory ferrule, medium tip
White with green speck Irish linen wrap
3/8-10 flat face ivory joint
Special slim butt taper
Ivory hoppe ring engraved with my initials, "CAM" and his name and date

I have only shot one shaft, and only then for a couple of games. The other is in mint condition.

I deeply enjoy this cue, thanks again Bill.

Scruggs Titleist

Maybe i am the exception but i have a Tim Scruggs purpleheart titleist conversion cue that is my primary playing cue.I realize that for many, their titleist conversions are primarily collectors but this cue plays so good i just dont want to put it up for collection purposes.Mr Scruggs and Mike made 4 identical 4 oz(not approximately but exactly 4 oz each) matching shafts and the butt is precisely 15.5 oz. for a perfect(for me) 19.5 oz cue with any of the shafts. The ivory notched diamond and dot inlays are flawless. It has a flat faced SS joint with a radial pin which for me plays great. If i ever figure out how to post pictures i will gladly do so.I have some other great playing cues from the Tim and Mike and for anyone who has never had the opportunity to buy a cue from these guys, there are absolutely no finer folks out there to do business with.Mike S.

I love 'em too. Hope this thread gets filled w/ some beauties.

They sure are doing a nice job so far! These cues really have character. It's amazing how each cue maker interpreted the theme differently and made ther own Tribute to Titlist!

I just found out that all the Titlist based early Palmers were actually conversions. Peter Balner said they bought all the old house cues from bars and pool rooms for 50 cents to $1.

In case you haven't seen it, this is what the Titlists looked like before they became cues:

These titlist conversions are beautiful.

Shorty, that Shick is a phenomenal cue! The others are fantastic as well. Great stuff!

Wow, those are some gorgeous cues. Thanks so much for posting all of these. I have to say I'm especially fond of the Shorty's Schick, the Ebony James White, the purpleheart Mottey, and the Gina...although they are all very nice.

Oh no. That's not it. I am @home now and can see all the lovely Tit's (I lkije the oak one best). I couldn't get 'em to display earlier coz I was at work, a place that seems to be able to F me some new way every day, LOL MF, LOL. I think about taking a piss on the personell files, but that would be all too traceable...

Seriously...that titlist gives mine a serious run for the money. Dennis makes a great playing cue from what I hear as well.

I like all these cues, but expecially the White. My favorite titlist is ebony because they are so rare. I have my first titlist (ebony) in the works now, and it should be finished in a couple of weeks. Will post pictures.
Mine has an ETA of late December - unadorned with leather wrap.

So far my favorites are the James White ebony and the Schick - the Schick is especially impressive because it is basic with no inlays.

I BELIEVE I KNOW WHERE IT IS BUT I DON'T THINK IT'S FOR SALE. I THINK SCOTT MURPHY HAS IT. MAYBE SEAN COULD GIVE YOU AN UPDATE.
