Titlist Conversions

I'LL ANSWER THIS BEFORE SOMEBODY JUMPS ON YOU FOR NOT KNOWING. I'LL DO THE BEST I CAN TO EXPLAIN.

A TITLIST WAS AN OLD CUE THAT WAS PRODUCED BY BRUNSWICK. THE EARLY ONES WERE 1 PIECE FULL SPLICE CUES WITH VENEERS ON THE POINTS. (MAPLE MAHOGANY, GREEN AND PURPLE)
CURRENT CUEMAKERS WILL CUT THEM UP AND EITHER JUST USE THE POINTS IN A CUE, OR ACTUALLY CONVERT IT LEAVING THE TITLIST FULLSPLICE. IT'S BASICLY THE SAME AS STARTING WITH A FULLSPLICE BLANK, BUT THESE ARE VERY OLD. HERE IS A PICTURE OF MY PLAYING CUE THAT PETE TASCARELLA DID. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF A TITLIST THAT WAS LEFT FULLSPLICE.

I HOPE THIS HELPED. HERE IS A WEB PAGE THAT MAY HELP MORE http://www.palmercollector.com/Titlist.html
THAT ALSO EXPLAINS THE TITLIST AND GIVES YOU EXAMPLES.

HERE ARE A FEW OTHER TASCARELLA TITLISTS THAT I'VE OWNED.

THANK YOU. THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT IS JUST A FLAT OUT PLAYER. I'VE TRIED MANY OTHER CUES(FROM MANY DIFFERENT MAKERS) SINCE I GOT THIS ONE FROM PETE, BUT THIS IS MY FAVORITE SO FAR.

Sweet!! Jerry did a great job on that cue. How long did he take to do it?
Bama, Thanks - It was only about 6 weeks. I'm hoping to run into some wood experts at the pool room, so I can find out what this is made of.

Well, I caught the Titlist bug a while back and I've had one in the works for about 6 months. Finally got it Thursday night, and not only is it beautiful, it plays extremely well.

Conversion by PFD Studios, Rosewood points, Slotted diamonds and dots inlays in each point in MOP, White with green speck linen wrap, Hoppe ring, thick stainless joint rings, stainless sleeved joint, Ivory ferrule, moori tip. Just one shaft right now, waiting for my matching predator shaft.

Here's the pics. My camera isn't that great so hope they look OK.
Sweet cue. I like how he brought back so much of the points - I had to trade off some of that in order to keep the "Willie Hoppe". Next one I think I'll go for longer points and add some dots and/or mop diamonds and a linen wrap. There are a lot of ways you can go with these.

Hey everyone,

I think I'm falling in love with some of the gorgeous titlist conversion cues I've seen posted around here. I would love to see a post dedicated only to titlist coversion cues and their proud owners/admirers ;) So, if any of you are willing to post your titlists or any you have found on other websites and such, that'd be wonderful.

Thanks everyone

Here are two more to look at. Top one has a ivory joint and Lizard wrap. Bottom one has a ivory joint, old micarta joint rings, ivory Hoppe rings and ivory inlays. Both are sold and I have none for sale so please save your PM's.

Maybe i am the exception but i have a Tim Scruggs purpleheart titleist conversion cue that is my primary playing cue.I realize that for many, their titleist conversions are primarily collectors but this cue plays so good i just dont want to put it up for collection purposes.Mr Scruggs and Mike made 4 identical 4 oz(not approximately but exactly 4 oz each) matching shafts and the butt is precisely 15.5 oz. for a perfect(for me) 19.5 oz cue with any of the shafts. The ivory notched diamond and dot inlays are flawless. It has a flat faced SS joint with a radial pin which for me plays great. If i ever figure out how to post pictures i will gladly do so.I have some other great playing cues from the Tim and Mike and for anyone who has never had the opportunity to buy a cue from these guys, there are absolutely no finer folks out there to do business with.Mike S.

I likewise have a Scruggs purpleheart titlist conversion cue that is one of my main palying cues. It's a plain Jane with SS joint (no inlays or other gingerbread) and weighs 19.5 oz. I can also reccomend Tim and/or Mike to anyone looking for a great playing well made cue.

MURRAY, I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY CUE. YOU MAKE ME MORE ANXIOUS EVERYTIME I SEE A PICTURE. THE INLAY WORK LOOKS AWESOME. AND I'M SURE IT WILL PLAY AT LEAST AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS.

Tim Scruggs/Dan Janes

These two cues were made about 10 years ago. The stack wrap was one of Dan Janes first. The Scruggs has ivorine 3 joint with big pin, ivory ferrules. The Janes has ivory joint, ivory ferrules and ivory ring in the butt plate.

Awesome Murray! Just Awesome!

Shorty-
Don't waste your time demanding recounts. While I agree that your Schick titlist is very clean and nice, it in no way compares to a Dennis Searing like the one posted earlier. As well, I will take a Tascarella titlist anyday like the ones posted by Fast N Loose. And as much as I love the James White and Paul Rubino titlists (not posted on this thread) that Sherwin owns, I think that those two Murray Tucker titlsits could be just about the prettiest I have ever seen!!!
Absolutely spectacular cues Murray!!

Please close this thread- I can't take it anymore...such beauty...must...have...one.

Murray- got any for sale?!?!?

Jack,

Those two are without a doubt my favorites, other than my own Schick of course...but WOW...that Joss is incredible!

very nice pair murray!

WOW!

I just checked this thread out for the first time in about a month and I must say, there are some awfully nice cues here. Even though I don't personally like the feel of wrapless cues, the ones posted by Deno and Murray are gorgeous. Thank you for indulging me (and certainly others) with all of these beautiful cues.
