Titlist Hoppe Pro for sale perfect for conversion or just to play with.

I just got their strategy to jeopardize the price and then steal the cue.
Well this is ain't gonna happen with my cue :).

Vass

I was posting because I didnt understand why you raised the price, not because I wanted to 'steal' your cue. Um I'm not sure but even if it sold at 300-400, I wouldn't call it stealing if its broken...

If for some reason i have lost my own titlist play cue and have a good cue maker ready to make my cue. I would probably jump on this cue unless there is really a crack in the veneer. I feel that curly forearm is quite hard to come by. But i do not need one so I am not buying it but just giving an opinion so that the seller can decide for himself and set his price. If it were really price out of the realm of sanity it would not have been sold i suppose.

For conversion I think the butt sleeve crack is really not that important. Till date I have only had 3 conversions done for me. The only thing that i am really concern about is whether the full splice can be maintained.

You are right that this discussion is quite ridiculous considering that the cue is already sold. But this is what makes this place interesting. No? So let just move on shall we.

First, you don't know what it sold for. Second, this forum is full of people who WOULD pay the asking price under the right conditions, conditions which for whatever reason never seem to be right for them.

Enough already, the cue sold

Pleeeeease stop bumping this thread.

This cue was sold over a week ago, and you're all STILL ranting on about plus or minus $150. Meanwhile, people have no problem over paying by $200-$400 for a Scruggs or others, and nobody has a problem with that... The reality is that this is an open and public exchange, and prices are set by what a buyer is willing to pay. My idea of a bargain may be your idea of way over priced. It's all relative, and the collective average price actually paid for a given cue is what sets it's market value.

Now please stop bumping this thread. This fourm is for people buying and selling cues, and they are trying to keep their offerings visible on the first page so that buyers can see them. All of these opinions and background noise makes that difficult.

You are right - this IS an open and public exchange. If you don't like it, there are other places where people will probably play by YOUR rules.

By the way - you should change the description of the Hoppe you are trying to sell here, to accurately reflect its age. Truthful descriptions will go a long way toward people listening to your viewpoints, especially when they are a bit antgonistic like the above.

Thanks for the two cents. But perhaps I should make myself clear because you seem to be missing some very important things.

This is not about an extra $100 or $150. This is about a seller asking the general public to set a value for his cue - IN A PUBLIC FORUM NO LESS!!! Then, when that has been done, he ups the price. When asked why, he is nowhere to be found except for the one time he popped in and said 'Its my cuie and I can charge what I like'. Well, that's true. But if you were going to charge what you like, why ask us what we think its worth?!?! No response to that question.

Then, the argument turned into Bishop reprimanding me for trying to kill the guy's sale and basically just for being an a$$ hole. I wasn't trying to kill anyone's sale and, as you rightly stated, the cue sold so obviously, I didn't kill the sale. I just wanted to know what the seller's intentions were. Bishop began fighting on Vass' behalf because Bishop likes to consider himself the moral majority. He sees himself on a high horse. But hey! That's Bishop. That's how he has always been and its how he will always be.

And you should read what you wrote and heed your own advice.

You said: "The reality is that this is an open and public exchange, and prices are set by what a buyer is willing to pay."

In this case, price was set by a seller who decided to increase the popular consensus by more than 25%. And if this is an open and public forum, who the hell are you to tell us that we can't dispute things?!?!

Thanks for the help, but you were actually no help at all.

Hahahaha I'm not on a high horse I'm just stating that you act like a ahole all the time. I'm more objecting to you than defending Vass. I'm mearly pointing out that once again you do what you always do and be argumentative in the wrong thread, at the wrong time, in the wrong place. Why didn't you state you objection in the original Vass thread and leave the mans business alone? See if you would have done that I wouldn't have said anything just like I didn't any other time in that thread.

I'm sorry you feel there is no level of decency we should all play on. I guess you got it all figured out. I changed my mind please never ever change, this society has far to many morals and standards to live by. Lets all sink to the level of obnoxious errr "real" and just call it like we see it.

Halfwit:

This is perhaps the dumbest thing you have said to date!!! In Vass' original thread, he asked for feedback as to what people thought the value of the cue was. He never said he was going to sell it. He never said he was going to up his price. He simply wanted feedback from people as to what the value of the cue was. People then gave their feedback.

It wasn't until THIS thread started that Vass made a questionable call to increase the price established by the knowledgeable parties he was polling.

Why didn't I object then?! BECAUSE HE NEVER SAID HE WAS GOING TO DISREGARD THE POPULAR CONSENSUS AND RAISE THE PRICE BY 25%!!!!!!

So much for walking away and "letting me get the last word".

I can't stop thinking of you sitting there just fuming and fist pumping. Congrats on the last word.

Wow, there's a lot of pent-up sexual tension here in this thread. Jimbo not properly servicing his concubines ?? :D  J/K

Seriously, who cares what it sold for ?? Who cares what Joe-blow thinks the veneers suck, the crack limits the 'conversionability', etc. Vass, why would you tell them the price...why not tell everybody to mind their own business and STFU ??

Opinions are opinons but this stuff is what made RSB start to royally SUCK when it was once pretty good. Man, if this is on the top of our list of worries, then God help us all.
