This message goes out to all of my friends on the AZ billiards forum. My cultures from my wounds came back. I found I'm battling a MRSA infection. This is the scariest thing I have ever faced. I go to the infusion center today to have a pic line put in. I'm starting IV antibiotics today I have to do this for a min of 8 weeks. If my friends could pray for me and keep me in their thoughts anything will help. I will keep you all updated with my progress. Thanks again.

Best wishes

Im sure everyone will be pulling for you but please tell us how you contract it so perhaps others have a chance of avoiding it.

My thoughts are with you for sure
Sounds like your doctors have a good plan to cure your infection.
How many times a week are the IV treatments, and how long do they take?

You are in my prayers now & whenever I think of all those that need our prayers.

Best Wishes & May God Bless You,
Rick

Something more what I find very positive about your infection is that I know few people, friends, actually more than few,and they all get infected with MRSA while they were in hospital for some other reasons. It is very comon after surgeries, however all of them get cured and fully recovered and they drink now the same beer they used to drink before.
Best wishes

Don't worry, everything will be fine with IV antibiotics and rest.
Best wishes on a fast recovery.

For those that don't know what MRSA is, it's Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus. It's a bacterial infection that's resistant to the normal antibiotics given for Staph infections, methicillin. Like Petros said, you normally contract this in hospitals, where MRSA is normally found (and where antibiotic-resistant bacteria and other pathogens seem to mutate from the heavy use of antibiotics there). It's a really DANGEROUS infection, and has to be monitored very closely and special antibiotics given in heavy doses to kill it, before it has a chance to mutate there as well.

I wish the OP the sincerest best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Prayers never hurt. Wishing you the best, man.

Thanks Sean for pointing out how serious this is...

be well Ziggy

All my kidding and adoration for the fairer sex aside; I have a profound belief in God.

Zig, I just seen this , and will keep you in my intercessory prayers from here on bro. Faith, support & courage are what you need right now. I pray for your strength and for your absolute will to overcome this matter. You are a good man Zig And I know God needs a few down here.
Be well, and get whole again.

I go every morning and take my IV antibiotics it only takes about an hour. I go into the hospital on Tuesday afternoon to get a picc line put in so it will be a lot easier. Thank you for the kind words and nice thoughts. Take care my friend, talk to you later.

Chris

MRSA is a very nasty infection for sure. Very important that you don't miss doses or stop antibiotic infusions before 8 weeks and before your tests comeback negative. If treatment is stopped too early the MRSA can comeback worse (rebound effect). After you get the pic-line in it would be better if you got infusions at home.

Good luck to you. I'm sure you will be fine in time. Johnnyt

My Dr's seem to think I contracted this when I was in the hospital last year the same time. I was in the hospital for a bad lung infection. They have told me that's when I must have picked it up, It stayed dormant in my body for all this time. They said that's the onlyn way I could can gotten this infection. This shit is brutal. All I can say is if you go to a clinic or hospital setting. or the guy or any place where have been a lot of different people in and out. So just be carful. Thanks again.

So let me ask this then-seeing as the Drs acknowledge how you got it- Is all this care on them? In other words-no bills?
