Too many chiefs

pretty accurate last sentence Kid

With the problem acknowledged! Matchroom should help the players help Matchroom!!!

Get the Mosconi Cup team members into some marketing and branding classes for a couple of weeks or have the Marketing team from Matchroom working directly with the PLAYERS giving them the guidance they so desperately need!!!

I am willing to bet that if I asked the Mosconi Cup Players for a "Business Card" or "Resume" they would have nothing to provide and would have to get back to me!!!!

If I asked that same question to Jeanette Lee one of the most successful people in sports I would get a much different response and a contact number for her booking agent. She is at that level!!!

Doug, I apologize for picking on Matchroom via these examples, they mean well! The Players need help! Matchroom is partners with the players and sport and they could be the catalyst for the much need change and education of the players. Imagine one or two big tours in america, with plenty of stops, consistent rules and standardized equipment... governed by one body, run by a handful of savvy chiefs. Another in europe, another in asia.

It would be much easier for me to "imagine" Sophia Vergara in my bed every night !!!

The stuff you mentioned ain't never gonna happen.

.....small pox, booze and the government have decimated our numbers ever since the Plymouth rock landing.

Weird thing is, if the Plymouth Rock thing would have happened in today's times, the United Nations would have sent out a "peacekeeping" force and put a stop to it.

Y'all got screwed. Big time.

Maniac (and........the government gave 'em land in New Mexico :sorry:)

Getting back on topic, I too would like to have more clarification of what Brandon S. meant when he posted on FB.

People should take notes from doug and also notes from how entities operate overseas. when they have events overseas, sometimes your paid a little just for going, to help with expenses and payouts are significantly higher. And they are more professional and a big deal....Fans are more real, refs wear gloves and are legit, they stand players on podiums when they win, they give awards and medals and drop graffiti and all kinds of different cooler things that significantly make them look like they do a better job than us. here in america,,,most of our chiefs tighten up when they find a way to make money and that makes them have too much of a voice which creates way too much Poolitical bullshit. truth is..we have no correct leaders in our country. closest i can think is BCA but then again sometimes they appear they have no clue. this country is full and overflowing of great players and we just sit around watch each other struggle

Unfortunately, this is what happens when people start to realize pool doesn't really have a future. Its a hard thing to swallow after you've put countless hours into something.

Thanks for that pro9dg!!! Wow, Shuff has hit a home run with that observation. I bet there's a boatload of other American pros that feel exactly the same way.

At least....not here in America.

It seems to be flourishing in other parts of the world (especially in the countries where football, basketball, etc. are NOT viable sports for their athletes).

Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised to see some players migrate.

In case anybody wondered, Brandon and myself are pretty good friends and there is a lot more he has to say on the subject. I am disinclined to quote any more of his views but if you want to hear what he has to say (and it is very interesting and outspoken stuff) then why not befriend him on Facebook.
Or maybe he will come on here himself

I don't do Facebook. Hell, I waste enough time in my day getting on here several times :embarrassed2:.

I do want to thank you for what you have posted here. It is interesting stuff for sure, and I agree with what Brandon said wholeheartedly!!!

Mark My Words, you won't be able to resist. I will give you 45 minutes:):)

No it's too many chiefs not enough indians, I am pretty sure. Don't want to waste my google powers to check :-)

I've heard it said both ways all my life. I've always preferred the one that didn't make me sound illiterate and confused. I have too many other ways of doing that. If those chiefs aren't Indians then what the devil are they? :)

This rings so true after watching SVB win the US open this year. I couldn't believe how unprofessional that was.

just an observation

As a matter of fact: in Europe, on numerous Tournaments, Players compete just for Medals and Titles, no cash prizes there !!!
