Top 10 or 20 pros' cues set ups?

I like to try different cues, shafts, tips, etc., even at the expense of not having a regular setup to get used to. That's just me. Regarding what the Pro's use, I don't pay too much attention. I will say though, seeing more and more of them using carbon shafts, which I have not tried, makes me want to go get one, just to see.......
So far, I've managed to resist the temptation.
 
For me yes I'm curious about what the pro's shoot with but it won't make much difference in all honesty what cue it is or tip & chalk in hopes of improving my game , what I feel will improve it is practice , practice and more practice taking chances that I normally wouldn't and make it work to the best of my ability and my imagination then goes into overdrive and I imagine that I'm playing pool against whomever with the proper positive attitude .
This works well for me your results may vary ha ha

I am 100% sure he now knows it is a total waste of time trying to discuss pool stuff in this pool forum... Lmfao 😂

Well JV that sounds like one of my posts on here how I use what cue or shaft for my cue that I'm getting along with at the time .
It sounds like Filler had a similar situation .

Correcting misinformation, or providing useful factual information or even alternative perspectives, is not "sh!tting on a thread".

Do you think that the OP of a thread, or yourself, or anybody else for that matter is so special, and their posts somehow so sacred, that they should never be countered when somebody else knows that they are wrong or even when they just have a different opinion or perspective? Apparently you do because that is exactly what you are suggesting, but it is stupid and not based in any logic, not to mention that it would make for a horrible forum.

Look, if you say something stupid or incorrect, not only is it ok for you to be corrected, but I think people have an obligation to correct you to prevent the further spread of misinformation. Which is why I just corrected your good intention-ed but very misguided post that is wrong on a number of levels.

Since the worlds best would still be that with any well constructed cue they decide to get used to. Earl with old cuetec is a good example. Best thing is trying others players finding something that feels good in the hand and has a good hit to the individual.

Doesn’t matter how well it’s made if it doesn’t feel comfortable for someone.

Players good or bad know when they dislike a cue pretty darn fast even to the degree of only trying it for one shot.

Of course I'm no expert or Pro. I like Dieckman cues. Own 3. Love them all. That said, one of the worst cues I ever hit a ball with was made by Dennis. Of cousae it was made to someone else's specs.

I would guess that when pros get together they sometimes ask each other about the equipment they are using, and it's not because they're looking to improve their game or anything.

like if corey asks efren what tip he's using, it's not because corey hopes using that tip will make him a pro.
 
To all who have defended my curiousity...............exxxxxxxxxactly. And to any of the naysayers of seeking greater knowledge, go back to to eating your food with your fingers, walking to work, sending smoke signals instead of using the internet to communicate, continue to brings knives to a gunfight and I genuinely hope you're happy in your ignorance of all things technologically advanced. My take on the whole thing is if a player is better and beats me using not only his skills but some superior technology than mine then I'll be damned if I don't want to know what it might be. It may not be for me but if I can be beaten by it then I damn sure better know how to defend against it.
 
So did I miss something? Has anyone actually sent any specs yet?💤 Maybe if the specs are that secret there really is something to the setup…….
 
Matchroom (and the other streams) should spend more airtime on these topics. But perhaps the commentators don't know or aren't given the time to find out.

There have been. Not a lot but a few here and there. Please don't ask me to quote those particular posts.....my brain doesn't function that way any longer. Lol.
 
Earl Strickland is using a Mike Gulyassy 58" cue with a 14mm shaft, a black phenolic ferrule, and an Elkmaster tip.

I dont know what brand of tennis wrap and duct tape is wrapped around the handle! :)
