IMO, as long as they are equipped with an aftermarket LD shaft like a Predator, they will become the "best playing." My stock Schon shafts hit much firmer and more solid than the Predator; however, I miss more balls.

In no certain order; These are some of the cues I've owned that I considered the best. I've played with other great hitters, but I'm only listing cues I had a lot of experience with.

Hercek
Zinzola
Haley
Josswest
McDaniel
Scruggs

The one single best hitting cue I ever had my hands on belonged to a friend and it was an early '80s Richard Black.

Their is a lot fo truth to that statement,,

1 best house cue I can find

2, any decent cue makers conversion of a titelist blank with LD shaft

3, mezz with a wd 700 shaft

4 scruggs stamped sneaky

5,lambros with a ultra joint / black boar with a no farrel shaft

I guess I can only judge those I have owned and/or used at length.
It is pretty subjective, based on what you like to feel in your hit, so it is entertaining at best.
In no particular order:

JossWest
Tim Scruggs
Jerry Pechauer
Schön
Russ Espiritu

Even so, I like the ones I have but not necessarily, others I have tried,by the same makers.

An LD shaft kills their soul, but is a very useful replacement for a poor shaft on an inexpensive cue. They may be great for others, but I choose not to choose a slight reduction in squirt, for a total lack of feel.
