This thread is nothing more than a waste of time and bandwidth...there are like 5 serious posts and the rest are bullshit...

Since discipline seems to be getting a little lax around here, these are 5 serious cues i've been using lately.

That seems a bit harsh. Are you saying only high dollar custom cues are not bullshit? Are you saying all cues by a certain maker are perfect? Are you saying judge hit by someone else's opinion, since there are only about 5 people here who have actually hit with one of your versions of a premier cue?

Could you clarify your post, as to which 5 posts are serious?

Agreed. In fact, I'd further the above, adding drB98's post has the highest level of worthless content in the thread.

The best playing cues IMO I've actually hit with extensively or owned and time period in which the cue was made are below(This is in the order of my preference, a little commentary with most and I had to do 7 with some shared rankings). I would still play a tournament with any one of these makers cues confidently even though I ranked them as I did.

I currently have an LP Custom on the way and from what I've heard about Lee's cues I may be changing or adding to this list.

1.Leon Sly 2010-11
-This cue has the "Hit", balance, build quality and striking sound I was looking for for at least 15 years. It's solid with great feedback and the action on the cue ball is appropriate to my stroke.

1. Ernie Martinez early 90's
-This cue gave me the hit and balance that I was looking for in all others after. Had to keep looking after trying this cue as the owner would not part with his cue.

1. Szamboti early 80's
-don't remember if it was a Gus or Barry. It just hit really nice and after playing for a few hours with it it was clear to anyone that it had been built by a master cue maker.

2. Tim Scruggs early 90's
-Hit solid and reminded me of a Richard Black I had played with and liked a lot.

3. Richard Black late 80's
-What you would expect from Mr. Black. Great playing and tightly built.

4. Samsara early 90's
-Had a wood to wood with Buck horn joint and buck horn ferrules. Really nice and lively feeling combination. Wish I had picked this one up.

5. Schon early 90's
-Fairly hard hitting solid players. One of the reasons why these kept their value over the years. I still have the first one I ever picked up and it hits a bit better than it even did new.

IMO, as long as they are equipped with an aftermarket LD shaft like a Predator, they will become the "best playing." My stock Schon shafts hit much firmer and more solid than the Predator; however, I miss more balls.
you hit that statement dead nuts! Predator speaks for its self for tourneys won by professionals!

quite an indorsement for Sly cues to be ranked above gina/scruggs/szam/black etc. I should try out one of his cues sometime!
