i was at the olympia open and i wanted some imput on ld shafts. i talked to several top amuters including jesse bowman. they all more less said ld shafts were for beginers.
any top amutures or pro's want to comment. that would be great.

ive been shooting with a 314-2 for about 2 years now. and now i just switched back to my stock joss shaft. i feel so much more in control of the cue ball again.

thats not true.
more pros play with pred or like pred than dont.

Sr 9ball, you are right. LD shafts are for bangers and beginners like Alex Pagulayan and John Schmidt.

that was what bowman told me he kind of thought. and the other top amutures at the tourn. were older so im sure they where just use to the old school shafts.
is there alot of pros shooting with ld shafts?
im just messed up now deciding weather to keep shooting with it or not.

Use what works for you. I however will not play with out a Predator Z or, Z2. I stareted out playing with a stock shaft in 2001 and quickly went to the 314, and my game improved. When the Z came out I swithched to it and my game improved, when the Z2 came out I swithched to it and my game improved. If I play with my 314 now I don't make the same shots that I can make with either of my Z shafts. So do what works for you. And, don't worry about what anybody else say's.

There are healthy & believable arguments from each side, which would indicate that nobody is right & nobody is wrong. Just use what works best for your game. If you have to let somebody else decide for you what is best for you, then you have bigger problems than simply choosing a shaft. Screw what anybody else thinks & just use the shaft that you like best.

my problem is that there r very good benefits to both standard and ld shafts. feel in the standard shaft and pocket power in the ld shaft. im in a 50/50%. because i need both in my game. feel is huge in my game. and i always struggled with deflection in my game too. i play mostly on bar tables and 7' diamond's. so i dont need to worry about pocketing very long shots for deflection. my shape needs to be alot more accorate cause of more clusters on a 7'. and bumping balls to move them around. so thats why im tossing the idea out there for everyones take on it.

IMO Jesse is a bad person to answer the question. He is a freak of nature that can (literally) pick up ANY cue & play lights out with it. He doesn't need a LD shaft.

He will show up at the pool hall cue-less occasionally to find a ring game going on or something. He'll just borrow any cue from behind the counter to play with. It doesn't matter to him because he has that special touch that normal humans don't have. I, on the other hand, need every technological advantage I can lay my hands on just to play 7 balls worse than him.
