It's none of my business, but most everything you said is correct. But even though Eddie will likely sell a couple cues through this, I don't think he'll be taking any away from Dave. They are in two totally different spectrums of the feild. Certain people buy Dave's cues, and certain people will try Eddie's cues, but they'll most likely not be the same people.
I feel similar about the situation as Dave, but I never cared to be so frisky

Some of the things posted to "teach" or "influence" newbies is straight up bad technique & could cause much more serious harm than good. A newbie follows this advice & ruins a customers cue beyond logical repair, and he'll never get a fighting chance in the industry. Sharing knowledge is fine, but not all knowledge is good. One has to be wise enough to know the difference, and have the experience to know how much knowledge a newbie can handle.
I relate it to seeing the common C player teaching other players like they really know their stuff. I see it everywhere I play. An "A" player will give advice & tips, but will not spend the extended time giving detailed lessons at the table. But a "C" player will go on for hours sharing his "knowledge". The student gets more useful knowledge from the few words spoken by the "A" player than he'll get from a 2-hour lecture from the "C". Some "C" players evolve into "A" or solid "B" players, most do not.
