Eddie Wheat,

DO NOT, under any circumstances, TRIFLE with Dave B.

He is one mean, nasty, dust sucking, ass whooping cuebuilder.

Its not my place to let everyone know what he did prior to building cues but, as a warning to Eddie, the WWF and the World Kick Boxing Association hasn't been the same since he retired.

What that man can do to a piece of wood with his bare hands is unspeakable.

That really is a cool lookin little doggie pooch!!
I heard he killed an alligator just to watch him bleed to death.

I saw the alligator thing happen - I SWEAR!

That alligator is now in Japan in pieces. He skinned it and and made a bunch of wraps out of it.

Even though he loves puppies, he's a tough, tough guy!!!

Keith <~~~~~~~~~ Would never ever TRIFLE with Barengersterre!

It's none of my business, but most everything you said is correct. But even though Eddie will likely sell a couple cues through this, I don't think he'll be taking any away from Dave. They are in two totally different spectrums of the feild. Certain people buy Dave's cues, and certain people will try Eddie's cues, but they'll most likely not be the same people.

I feel similar about the situation as Dave, but I never cared to be so frisky :) Some of the things posted to "teach" or "influence" newbies is straight up bad technique & could cause much more serious harm than good. A newbie follows this advice & ruins a customers cue beyond logical repair, and he'll never get a fighting chance in the industry. Sharing knowledge is fine, but not all knowledge is good. One has to be wise enough to know the difference, and have the experience to know how much knowledge a newbie can handle.

I relate it to seeing the common C player teaching other players like they really know their stuff. I see it everywhere I play. An "A" player will give advice & tips, but will not spend the extended time giving detailed lessons at the table. But a "C" player will go on for hours sharing his "knowledge". The student gets more useful knowledge from the few words spoken by the "A" player than he'll get from a 2-hour lecture from the "C". Some "C" players evolve into "A" or solid "B" players, most do not.

Very well said, a good rep headed your way sir!

I can't help but remember a bunch of the Wheat Cues posts as almost sounding like sermons from the mount and then wondering "who the heck is that guy?"

Barenbrugges cues and how highly they are sought after speaks for themselves.

I never imagined when I posted my question how much debate it would cause. Gentlemen this is a place to gather information and find out recommendation on how to make a good quality cue not to argue over a simple word such as "all" and "I". As I have gone through this forum I have found some very good and useful information from most of the posters here. No I have never built a cue and sold it but thats why I'm here to find out what works and what doesn't. I may try the automotive finish I may try a water based finish but this is information I did not have before and now I can test out what might work for me. Thank you for all the information and I hope that I can come back with more questions and not have to sift through the high school antics he said she said. I know I'm new here but I though this was ask the cue maker.
Please let me know if I'm out of line and I will keep my mouth shut.

Welcome to cuemaking 101. From my experience, cuemakers are all on edge to a point, a little paranoid, easily annoyed, often anti-social, moody, insomniacs, & genuinely good people. Bickering is something cuemakers do. It's all part of the territory. It's all fun in the end. We all love what we do, and fighting adds spice to the sometimes boring task of building cues. If we take the human element out of it, this stuff would be too dull to read.

Funniest post ever!!!!!!!!

Since I've been a member it seems that almost EVERY post I've read by BarenbruggeCues has had a smart ass overtone or seemingly been intended to offend someone of initiate an altercation. I'm a pretty low key person but know a few of you guys pretty well through various dealings. I really enjoy AZ and the great info I read (as I realize I DO NOT know it all). In my sincere opinion he should get some anger management help. At least 99%+ of the guys on here seem to be great people and have always eagerly offered me the help I've needed. Maybe Craigslist "rants and raves" would be a more appropriate forum for Dave to release his frustrations? Anyway, thank you to the GREAT guys on here.

Another out of hand topic. . .Seems common nowadays. I thought this was current, til I looked at the dates. . .Oops!
